Very nice routine. The rhythm and timing seemed quite smooth and you are very comfortable in the use of the wand. I would, however, reconsider the use of sponge balls as a final load. Something a little more solid may go over stronger. But overall, a very enjoyable routine to watch. Thanks for sharing!

Very nice routine, clean, direct, and entertaining. As for the spionge ball ending, who is to know they are sponge anyway. Well done!
Outside of the performance, I loved the video, and the music fit just perfectly. Tony |

Thank you so much.
I considered the final loading many times. However, it was paid attention to see with the video many times. So,I could not help taking elastic sponge ball. I think that it will announce various routines in the future. At that time, please give the opinion to me. Good day, sir! Broccoli.

Hi Broccoli,
I liked your routine and I have no problem with sponge balls as a final load in fact you could do your routine in a shirt and Jeans with no bulky loads and really knock thier socks off, when I do a sponge ball routine no one says "yes but it would be better if it was a potato"-it's the appearance SURPRISE that gets them and I bet your routine has that effect on your audience. Keep up the good work, Royston |

Overall it was good. Final loads surprising, well loaded.
Tip over cups too far in initial sequence. Flashed ball on second cup load in beginning. Strike vanish weakest part. Too much movement of ball hand. Looked a little awkward still. Work on steal of ball on cup pickup. Needs to be smoother. Push cup forward slightly then release third ball from behind cup with slight forward momentum. When the balls are at front of cup and release from behind and sideway, it is noticeable. Good routine, can be smoother and great with some refining.

You need to watch David Williamson do the Striking Vanish. It was never intended to be done with a wand. A wand is too long.
Watch your hands in the video. They do not appear to be relaxed when they should be.

I'm not too fond of the "hand to hand...to hand" transfer, but I know that's how it was written up by Vernon, and subsequently by everyone else. If you have a chance to see Gazzo's performance, note how he tips into the left hand, then transfers to the right hand and tosses it up and shows to the right side of the crowd. Then, he does the transfer back to the left as he reaches for the wand with his right hand. Showing to the left, and then the right justifies the actions rather than just moving the ball around for no good reason. I like to do this with the fingers pointing up and the palms toward the audience to emphasize the "fairness" of my actions. This separates the necessary actions with enough time in between that it doesn't look nearly so suspicious.

It's funny you mention that Dave. I was thinking the same thing, but didn't point it out because I know that is "how" it's done. I was never fond of transferring the ball more than once before it is vanished. Unfortunately, when you start to work out those movements and choreograph a routine, you find out that it can be rather hard. It would help to be ambidextrous but performing the vanish with the "off" hand can be a road block.
In working out my initial vanish/tip over load sequence, I made it so there was little if any unnecessary hand to hand transfers. That meant using different vanishes for each one though, which can be a challenge, but is my preferred solution. Quote: On 2006-11-22 15:18, Dave VanVranken wrote:

Yep a smooth routine you can be pleased with. It is entertaining and that's a fair test. Just try and relax your hands.
