I am looking forward to get this dvd set !!!!
Description and linnk : http://www.innermindproductions.com/future.htm Unexpected DVD Vol 1 The Unexpected is the first DVD from Marc Spelmann & Peter Nardi covering the genre of Impromptu Mentalism. With the impromptu weapons on this DVD you will always be ready when the Unexpected happens! Routines explained on this DVD include: Fist Full Of Dollars An incredible opener for any impromptu situation. Give your spectator a chance to win some cold hard cash. All they have to do is guess which hand holds the money! Simple as it sounds they will never win! As a kicker you prove to them you knew they would choose the wrong hand from the start. A Tribute To Mr Kane This is an Impromptu version of Kane’s variant. A great gambling effect using only 5 business cards and some money. This little beauty look as fair as fair can be! Feel Spectator holds an imaginary object in their cupped hands. You now concentrate and tell them exactly what they are holding! This is a killer impromptu effect that you will be performing in your paid shows! Serial Killer Lite Your spectator removes a bill from their wallet and folds it up. Now just by holding it under your hand you can start calling out the serial number! This is a classic mentalism feat that everyone should do! Take Note Your spectator takes part in a little game of chance. 3 notes of different values are placed on the table. You write a prediction on a business card which remains on full view through out. Now using your powers of persuasion you manage to influence their choice of note! Perfect ESP A quick & simple ESP match up routine. Even though your spectator mixes the cards. You always place your card down first and you can even do this facing away from your spectator! No- one a head, marked cards or extra cards involved used! Drinks On The Patio A great little performance piece to do when you’re in a bar. A lovely lady to requested to help out and as a thank you will buy her a drink. The drink she gets depends on how well she does in the little test. Underhand Thoughts An unbelievable impromptu drawing duplication that will get you out of trouble! Being shown here for the very first time, easily worth the price of this entire DVD! Three For The Money A 3 Phase performance piece which highlights your ability to predict your spectators actions. Each phase gets increasingly more difficult yet you prove your power with 3 correct predictions! Single Handed Geller Marcs ultra slick one handed coin bend. This is something that you will carry with you always! A very deceptive technique that Geller would have been proud to perform! Busch Brain Buster No DVD on mentalism would be complete without a book, magazine or newspaper test. This superb 2 phased routine has been used by Spelmann and Nardi even in their paid performances. And utilises a fantastic subtlety from Richard Busch. Reveal a freely chosen word from any newspaper, book or magazine & describe an item your spectator has locked in their mind! This is a double DVD set full of killer material for that impromptu performace! |

I hope the quality -- presentation and scripting -- is better than the instructional DVD that came with the Stealth Assassin.

Certainly to each his own. But I thought the SA instructional DVD was SO much banter and joking and back-and-forth and fluff that if they'd stuck to the actual instructions, it would've been a fraction of its finished length, more watchable, and more helpful. I wasn't paying to watch a comedy act, I just wanted instructions for my wallet.

Mr Nardi , could you tell us when this dvd will be available?

It wasn't a comedy act Josh, Peter & myself are very good friends and we can get carried away. The wallet was to come with written instructions but we thought it would translate easier if we actually showed the how's and why's.
Also having watched thousands of DVDs and videos I find them a little regemented and stiff hence the lighter side of the SA DVD, we wanted to create a DVD that was fun and informative, as if you were watching two friends walk you through the wallet and it's uses.. Nothing was scripted and we genuinely didn't mean to go on too much. I hope you still found the DVD of some use with the wallet?? M.S.

On 2006-12-07 18:47, Marc Spelmann wrote: Marc, Absolutely. It's still my wallet of choice. No disparagement of the wallet itself intended. I hadn't noticed a regimented feel to instructional DVDs. I do feel that some publishers' DVDs are too formulaic, and others are too bloated. I also tend to agree with some critics that the tendency towards instructional DVDs (rather than printed instructions) is a lamentable one; as a software developer by trade, I tend to think that when faced with a problem, a low-tech solution is almost always far, far preferable from a "human engineering" standpoint. Instructions (for anything) are a prime example. Printed instructions are generally portable, compact, durable, easy to refer to, and unlikely to become gradually less accessible (as technological solutions dependably become). For me, those are much more important considerations than liveliness and humor. But I recognize that sometimes there is simply no substitute for good visual instruction. Matt.magicman, Hey, you could be right, maybe it IS American lack of humor. I also thought the DVD instructions for "Holey Sh*t!" were pretty bad. Really thought that the inclusion of jokes about women's genitalia were a little out of place. --Josh |

Josh, you can rest assured we wont be having any jokes on that topic... and completely understand your point, we all learn in different ways and like you I am quite partial to a little booklet that I can keep in my glove box for when I'm waiting to go into a performance. With the SA we had so many people commenting on the timing of the peek which is very difficult to translate into words.
RIVARDJLR: We are planning 'Unexpected' to be released at the end of January / early February.. Everything has been filmed but with the holiday season around the corner our production team are really bogged down and myself and Peter can be quite fussy about how we want the DVD to look.. Also I am performing literally every afternoon and evening until the end of December so I have no time at all.. M.S.

I thought the SA DVD was very informative and entertaining. It was obvious that Marc Adn PEter are good frineds and were just having fun and being relaxed. It was refreshing in fact to see a DVD that was presented in a casual manner but still instructional. MArc and PEter wee not doing a skit from Monty Python or Benny Hill, jsut being and acting like friends.
I am looking forward to getting the Unexzpected DVD set from Marc as he always produces excellent routines that are meant to be done in real world settings. Best regards, Michael Siegel

What is classed as impromptu within the Unexpected, by that I mean what materials will you need to have on you?

Myself & Peter really wanted to keep this as impromptu as possible but still maintain good solid mentalism effects that have got us out of the odd situation over the years.
The most you'd ever require is a few business cards, a pen, newspaper, magazine or book and some cash.. Some effects only need some paper or business cards and some cash.. One effect uses only money but is a strong effect. I lectured 'A Tribute To Mr Kane' at The Magic Circle and at the Ipswich Magical Society and it recieved some excellent reviews despite the fact that it uses only 5 business cards and a £50 note (It doesn't need to be a £50 note).. Peter and I have managed to do almost all of the material in any situation.. Even if you do not have any business cards, most restaurants, bars and people do have them.. I hope that helps a little??

Hi Guys,
Just a little heads up, Spelmann and myself have just heard that we should have the master copy back with us in a few weeks! The official release will be at the Blackpool convention. Anyone that pre orders the Unexpected from our site http://www.innermindproductions.com will get the DVD 2 weeks before the Blackpool convention. (if all goes to plan:) By the way we have made an improvement to Serial Killer Lite, Your spectator now removes the bill from his wallet folds it up and he himself places it under a glass. The note remains is full view yet you are still able to divine the serial number! In addition to this there is an added bonus discussion called two's company. Peter |
