The purpose of this thread is to compare the varieties of pocket tricks that we can carry and perform anytime. For me, my best 5 pocket tricks are:-
1) Thumb Tip
2) I.T.
3) Coin Sleight
4) Crazy Horseman Cuff + Star gazer
lastly 5) A deck of cards

How about you?

TT, IT , Coin Sleight, and a deck of cards are not tricks.
Don't know what Crazy Horseman Cuff + Star gazer is.

I don't think I carry pocket tricks, I'm not even sure what a pocket trick is. Someone fill me in. I do carry items to perform tricks with. They include cards, coins, bills, rope, rubber bands, TT, and a black dinner napkin.

I keep Hundy 500 and rubberbands in my wallet so I always have them. If I think I might perform I bring a deck too.

Again, those are not not tricks! They are tools, as mentioned above.

Well, I think it depends on the people, and the environment you are performing in.

But, stuff I have at all times(in my wallet) allows me to do:

Name/Place routine
Osterlind Watch routine
Betting game with yes/no cards
Divine a thought of telephone number
Pulse stop...

Like other I cannot figure out what people are referring to as "coin sleight." Perhaps a routine with a coin? I don't know.

I do not carry around "pocket tricks," but I do carry around some props when I know I'm going to perform:

Deck of cards
TT loaded with a two dollar bill
Pen through quarter gimmick, normal quarter, pen
A couple half dollars
My card to wallet is my everyday wallet

If I am not planning on performing, I might bring a deck of cards just in case.

Is that the same trick? Silapmata said he likes a deck of CARD. Singular card. It may be a different effect.

I like to carry a monkey.

And I have a deck of card too. Really easy to find the selected card, but the 21 card trick takes a lot of setup.

I hate to carry a coin sleight, it fills up my socks. I like to carry the Downs palm.

As far as pocket tricks go, I have a method to make my pocket go outside of the pants. GREAT reactions. First I take the pants off, then the misdirection is built in.
I love you, well not you but the guy behind you, no not the ugly one, the girl.

Is it still considered uncouth to place ones hands in the pockets when ladies are present?

A pocket can travel half way around the world while the hands are putting on its shoes.

What in the world?!?!

I always carry a half dollar and several (small) items in my wallet (flipping dollars, MagiCard, Mental Yarn, and a Wonderland Dollar). Problem is, I tend to forget I've got them there when someone asks to see something. Smile
Smile Tally-ho! And Tuscarora too! Smile

If impromptu is really your middle name, then you ought to be able to perform without the use of props that you brought with you. Now I know, I know; impromptu can mean "seemingly impromptu to the spectators," but as long as you're going to claim to be able to perform impromptu then I would expect you could actually do something that's truly impromptu.

Wonderland Dollar and Two Ones to a Two fit neatly in my wallet along with:
Two Pennies or borrow same: Two Pennies on Knee and Tenkai Pennies (see Bobo's)
A couple of Rubber Bands for obvious routines

Being able to borrow a deck of cards, showlace or string, kleenex what becomes available expands exponentially. Best,

1) Invisable Deck
2) 2 Card Monte
3) Fant-a-Stick (It may be an incredably simple trick, but it always gets amazing results)
4) Regular Deck
5) TT with sugar packs or a napkin

Magically,

In case anyone's interested:

1. Ike Dollar Coin & Sudbury Penny (Spellbound)
2. Lubor Lens (Reality Twister)
3. 3-Ring Circus (Jay Sankey)
4. Mismade Dollar Bill (Four Corners)
5. Gimmick for doing Cap In Glass Bottle (Prohibition)

Normally, I don't carry that much...the coins and Lubor Lens are ALWAYS with me. I will sometimes just do magic with what I find handy, pens (Flip Stick), rubberbands (CMH), or even a golf ball!

Best,

Doug
