2) TT for bill switch; sometimes loaded with a mismade bill, sometimes a 10 or 20.
3) rubber bands
4) coins (50 cent piece for calling heads/tails, Revolution vanish and various other tricks, as well as 4 quarters for a Matrix trick and a Coins Across routine, plus pulling out of kids ears, etc.)
5) Depending on how I am feeling: UV Nightshades, Psychokinetic Pen, Dream Queen, Brainwave Deck, normal deck of cards, rope.

"TT" has been mentioned by some. What IS that, in the magical sense of course? Or, is there a difference?

Newer additions:

Scotch & Soda
B-wave

Sometimes, even some rope for:
(This is for people that know me, as it seems kinda strange
to pull ropes out of your pocket.)

Cut and restore with slide off knot
Professor's Nightmare

1)Uncanny Intuition (cards)
2)Crazy Man's Handcuffs
3)A TT to do vanishing salt (saltshakers are present in almost all restraunts)

Really, I've found that a few rubber bands around the wrist, a TT hidden in a pocket, and a good deck of cards and you can do any number of good tricks and effects impromptu for whomever. I generally do a bit of magic at restraunts while waiting on the food, or just when the opprotunity presents itself- and I don't carry a whole lot on me to do it! Travel light: that's the key!

Since the topic is about pocket tricks
Remember that tricks with money have a strong emotional content and bill effects are not received like coin effects (so you can do both in one show). A shell, a Flipper and four silver coins can take you a long way. So does a mismade bill.
Rubber band effects are a very natural thing to have in your pocket (and there are very good DVDs teaching everything to make your own routine)
I love the color changing knives but they do not go through the airport security checks (and I travel a lot)
A deck of cards will not overload you either
A TT allows you to do salt tricks and many other effects (it's like your credit card: don't leave without it)
A Himber wallet is also a good pick (try the ones that can be easily loaded as well as for the card to pocket).
And I always carry a Jardine Ellis ring because I do Franklin Taylor's routine (from Kaplan's Fine art of Magic) which is a master piece making people fall from their chairs
A pen and a thin block of post it notes (mental effects).
Just with these versatile props, if you take the trouble to learn from some of the excellent books and DVDs which teach us how to put them at work, you're in for a great seemingly impromptu show "out of your pocket" and you'll be able over the time to improve on your routines and keep your magic alive.
Magic is the art of emotionally sharing live impossible situations

The only thing that I ALWAYS have on me is a deck of cards. And I'm quite fond of IT.
So sorry I soiled your precious eyes.

They're much better (by far!), but they're near impossible to ditch without a large cutting utensil nearby! Smile

For that, I recommend the Disecto Arm Chopper. https://www.penguinmagic.com/p/S14459
