Michael,
You wrote in "CGS" that you dropped certain tricks from your repertoire because the words felt false in the new venue you were performing in e.g. The Pothole Trick, and instead used tricks with cards predominantly because they were a prop natural to the environment and you could easily justify their presence. My question is - now that you do not do your regular gigs at the Houdini lounge, have you dropped that standard set from your repertoire (i.e. "The Trick That Lance Burton Showed Me" etc) to tricks using different props? Or have you changed the presentation of these? Is it still natural for you to do tricks using cards with the justification "because we're in Vegas"? The issue of the right routines in the right venue is one of particular importance to me. Martin.

Great question Martin. The essay "On venue and evolution" is worth the price of Closely Guarded Secrets in my opinion. The great tricks are just a free bonus!
