He sure has a talent for finding new and interesting illusions. His take on the checker-shadow illusion ( http://web.mit.edu/persci/people/adelson......ion.html ) is brilliant. Instead of having the identical squares far apart in the image they are actually next to eachother thanks to his gradient idea. Scroll down to
"Adelson's checker-shadow illusion-like gradation lightness illusion" at http://www.psy.ritsumei.ac.jp/~akitaoka/light2e.html and see if you believe your eyes when you are told that squares C and D are identical. /Tomas |
