Hi!
I need a review of "Geek Magic" by Tomas Medina. I know that there's someting wrote on the Cafè about that, but I havent found what I need. I have some questions: the razor blades illusion is good? Is well explained and, with a little attention, safe? (i know that with sharp blades it cant be 100% safe, but at least a 70%? ) The "ingest" of the Balloon have to be done in a little noisy place? And if I need something extra for the "glass eating", is it easy to find? Thanks a lot, David |

For geek magic this DVD is quite good. It is all usable and well explained material. Every effect is very safe, while some definately retain an illusion of danger.
Aside from having a seizure while performing I'd say the razor blades is 99% safe. The ballon effect does not have to be done in a noisy place. The etra something for the glass eating is very easy to find at any grocery and most convenience stores. These effects aren't for everyone but is the best DVD on geek magic I have seen. I have used razor blades and ballon eating to great effect. I give it an 8/10. |

It is a really fun DVD, and pretty much everything on it is usable in the real world, closeup.
I do the balloon swallow regularly and the tic tacs in the eyes and nose. Those both go over really well (Although someone tipped me to stop doing the tic tac bit. It was a lil too much for 'em) Yes, the razor blades bit is pretty darned safe, but only if you prep properly to do it. I haven't had the guts to try the Human Spittoon yet...But I am sure I will get around to it eventually. Overall, based on the number of tricks on it and the level of detail he goes into, it is well worth it. Gwyd |
