Phantom Band 360 by Brian Rodgers
Any of you who like Close Up penetration effects, you might want to check this out: http://www.grandiceillusions.com/One%20Man/PhantomBand.html After some discussions in the forums concerning other related effects, I was offered a glimpse at this some time ago. I'm glad to see this out and now available. Best, Nick V.

I like it!!
I think I know how it's done, but I must say... I sure can't tell from looking. Very clever. Randi |

The effect kinda reminds me of Andrew Mayne's Ghost Bills, but maybe this is a slightly different variation. I'll have to wait and see what people have to say.

You'll see a comment from myself on the Phantom 360 page, and I meant every word of what I said. Brian asked for my opinion on this effect before he released it, and like anytime someone asks for my opinion I give a brutally honest one. I personally tested this penetration in real life performances for a week before I gave any real feedback to him. You'll love this effect!
(Incidentally, I have absolutely no affiliation with Brian or stake in the Phantom 360 product, so this review comes completely unbiased) |

I really don't mean to be rude here, it's just that I watched this with my 8 year old son and it didn't fool him for a minute. Most tricks do fool him, but this one seems so obvious. I think anyone that looks at the bill afterwards will know right away what the secret is.
I feel as though I've seen this principle used (or published) before, possibly in an old book by Karl Fulves. Then again, I could be mistaken. $16.00 seems rather expensive for this one trick. To be fair I like the rubber band part much better than the needle one, the first move is very fair. I could see using this effectively for walk around in a bar, but only later in the evening when people have had plenty to drink. Just an opinion, sorry to be such an Eeyore! I'll crawl back in my hole now.
Thinking is the best way to travel!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my effect. You really need to FULLY understand the 'basic' methodology FIRST, to appreciate the adaptibility of the general effect and its MANY applications beyond the boundaries of the common ole band/bill trick. The essentials of its Inner beauty, found in the 'extended' methodology and explained thoroughly on the DVD, have proven successful to myself and others who have tested and performed with it in real working conditions. $16.00 seems rather expensive for this one trick. There are variations to the basic effect on the DVD, making for many different possibilities. Here are some quotes from an official review: "Price: You get more for you money here." "Variations: YES! Included in the DVD. There are many alternate ways to perform this effect. You can use something common, like a toothpick if you so desire. Brian offers a variety of ideas. I like the fact that you don't even really need a bill (currency), for any type of paper can be used. You can be at a restaurant and use the check that your waiter/waitress gives you along with a toothpick on the table. The possibilities are countless. You're ready to go with this just about anywhere." I feel Brian Miller has said it best: "I personally tested this penetration in real life performances for a week before I gave any real feedback to him. You'll love this effect!" Thank You Brian for experimenting with my creation and learning the full method behind it all and discovering the many beauties contained within. Thanks again rplanet for your feedback, and to everyone for your comments and support. Much appreciated. Brian Rodgers
