I like very much the idea of having a packet trick always ready, in my wallet. I possess a Ghost deck and a Ghost Gaff deck. That means I have 2 double-backers, 4 blank faced cards, 1 double-blank card, 3 double-facers (aces) and 3 double-colored backers (ghost-red, ghost-blue, ghost-black).
What strong packet tricks would you recommend, that could put my gaffs to good use ? (It can use the other cards of the Gaff deck, too ... like the Raven or Skull kings). |

Add the one gaff card of B-Wave, you already have the blank facers........

And what would that card be ?

Since B Wave is a marketed effect we don't expose gaffs or proprietary methods in the public forums. I would suggest buying the trick - it, along with Color Monte are the two packet tricks I could not live without. They are also the cheapest.....

If it's what I think it is, since there are only 4 cards, then the illusion would work only with 2 of the 4 Queens. That's why I asked, I wanted to know if it's more than a ... you know.

Just buy it - you get more than just a gaffed card - you get the intent behind the effect.

I do not intend on buying B-wave. It doesn't strike my fancy that much, since I find Twisted Sisters being better ...

What I did not understand is that 'the same principle' with just one gaffed card covers only two of the four queens. I thought B-Wave covered all four.

I just realised it comes with either black queens or red ones. So it doesn't cover all four ... at the same time. I've seen a demo and my thirst for knowledge is quenched. From one point of view ...
Now, back to the main topic. Besides Color Monte and B'Wave, do you recommend any other tricks ? These two I already like. Since I do not own the Color Monte cards, I have improvised a version with two aces and a gaff "Coffin Card". |

There is a huge body of knowlege here on the Café regarding 'favorite packet tricks'. You could spend hours pouring over the opinions of very experienced magicians. That said, here are the ones I carry:
B'Wave Color Monte Double Back Skinner's Three Card Monte Entourage Wild card

Thank you for the attention you give me, Robert (if I may); I have already scouted 'favourite packet trick' lists, but what I need is some advice regarding the use of the cards I actually own. Any strong packet tricks that utilise only utility cards, except for Twisted Sisters/B'Wave ?

Nothing off hand - what are the 'double facers'? Is it an ace on one side and a random card on the back? If so, if you had all 4 aces of them you could learn McDonald's Aces..........

Quit fishing for free handlings and tricks.
Buy the tricks or buy a book, but quit asking people to give you things you are obligated to purchase. |

I am not fishing. I'm not asking for any methods, only for some names of tricks that use just what gaffs I already own ... if it's too much, I'll stop right now.
@Robert : Yes, that's what they are. I already perform Dream of Aces, which I like very much. |

For this type of effect, I like personally Gordon Bean's Entourage. It gives the spectator completely free choice of suit, and card, and ends similarly with Jokers rather than blanks. In my opinion this makes it have a less gimmicked feel.
You can see a demo of it on Gordon's site at http://www.gordonbean.com/video/entouragequick.mov |

Clever gaffs. I might just adopt this trick ... thank you very much, mchristy.

MaddHatter - Have a look at Beyond Belief in the Dave Campbell Legacy by Peter Duffie. This trick will utilise three of your gaffs and is very visual, but you will need to add two blank backers which are easily available.
Also, Muldoon Match by Paul Gordon is the best use of a db I've seen. BTW - for the record, the effect of B'Wave does use all four queens. |

The most magic I've ever bought for the least money is Hank Lee's Mondo Monte.
It's an in the hands three card monte routine where cards keep turning over, changing places and then one by one the backs of all three cards change color. For a whopping three bucks you get the hardest hitting, flattest packing packet trick you've ever seen! When you finish this routine the spectators' heads are spinning. Through the years I've worn out more sets than I could keep count of. Dave |
