I've recently started using assistants, I'm now using a profesional dancer, she will be part of the final routine which is a "broom suspension", this routine is 2.5 minutes long. The entire ACT will be 25 minutes.
What percentage of my fee should I pay her ? I have no idea. I was going to give her 15% cheers |

Is syour assistant travelling with you or making her own way to performances? Is she going to help with the setting up and packing down of the show? Is she providing her own costumes and make-up? How regular will you need her services? Lots of different factors will determine how she is paid.

Mozerian,
Pay her as much as you can. She is not just a prop, she is your ensemble partner. I pay my assistants as much as my cut. I work with two assistants, so we each take 1/3 of the NET per show. My reputation for fairness has spread and I have people coming to me to ask if they can work for me as an assistant. You may take a slight reduction in your share at first, but the loyalty and committment that such fairness buys will be reflected in the performance. Clients will notice too - resulting in a long term gain. |
