Well, here is the reponse I just received from Magicbox, which confirms what many of us have suspected:
Hi
Thanks for your mail.
Unfortunatly and very angrily, we are still waiting for linked gimmicks from
the manufacturer.
He has promised to post on all magic forums that HE HAS NOT YET, SENT THEM
TO US as previously stated.
He has told us (again) they will be sent out this week.
We have set a deadline, and if we do not recieve them they will be removed
from our site.
Thanks Graeme

I do not know why Richard has LIED to everyone, but this is absolutely reprehensible behavior! If he didn't have the product, he could have simply said so, and we would have understood - some would have been disappointed, but his reputation would have remained intact. There really is no way that he can redeem himself now - the best way to start would be a full apology and a TRUTHFUL explanation of why he felt it necessary to deceive evryone here on the Café and other forums, as well as the folks at Magicbox. I appreciate the honesty shown by Magicbox, and must say that they are more forgiving than I would be, as I would immediately sever all ties with Richard and refuse to have any further dealings with him. If you want an absolutely killer effect, buy Masuda's WOW (this has been hard to obtain, due to demand, but was handled prefessionally). Maybe all Richard's products should be marked with an asterisk, ala Barry Bonds's record setting home-run ball...

I don't think magicbox will get it this week becouse there is two day strike by RM.
Those two days will delay lot of packages, even the following days.
I think three months are enough to fulfill a promise and should not be given more chances.
After spending £20 , one could end up with a single card and a cut on its side.

Wouldn't you have to send it before you could get a tracking number.

I think at this point in time Richard should disappear from the magic community AFTER refunding everyones money.
At this time I believe there should be some kind of charges brought against him.
A disgrace to the magic community

I'm betting on some sort of heart-tugging excuse in the near future.
These kind of things frequently fall back on some sort of PC reason for the "unforeseen and unfortunate" delay.
There are no happy endings. There are only happy journeys.

Did Richard actually receive money, or did all the pre-orders go though Magicbox? Reading the posts from Richard, he states that he never received any money, but now I know that we cannot trust his word. If he has taken money from people without delivering the product, perhaps something should be done. Especially in light of the fact that he promised Magicbox to make a confession of sorts on the forums., and he is, as yet, silent.

He said in a September 16 post that he received no money and it is in the hands of the store. He lost money on what it cost him to produce link so he says.

Hi folks,
I got this from Richard a couple of days ago in response to my post a few pages back, in which I suggested a boycott of all of Richard's products. What does anyone think about Richard's post below. I think I stand by my original post. Am I too harsh?
Hi,
Just so you know, every other effect which I have invented and released was released and suppied, in store on time. I had a problem with Linked, when a large amount that I sent out did not arrive and I had to completely manufacture the order by hand. Linked has been resent in two different packages to ensure that it is available. I have kept people up to date, replied to PM´S and emails.
I am simply trying to design new visual magic. Beleive me I do not want negative comments about any of the effects or me personaly.
Best,
Richard

I mean: Richard has thrown himself from the business!!!
He has here (in this wonderful forum) the possibility, to accept what is wrong.
However, nothing happens.
I am not annoyed. He will have his reasons. We learn out of that and let it rest.

Why don't magicbox remove it until they get it in stock ?
They don't know WHEN it'll be in stock, they don't know IF it'll be in stock, the creator keeps LYING all the time, and they still keep up on their site and keep taking the payments.
HORRIBLE.
Bring me the non pre-order stuff any time.

Sorry, but this point deserves repetition: Richard's work should be unconditionally boycotted. Café members should send messages to dealers informing them of Richard's history. It's a no-brainer at this point: the guy is a criminal. Either *Magic* or *Genii* might consider a story on this episode as a paradigm case of large-scale thievery in our community. - I've witnessed scams in this profession, but nothing as bold as this. Richard is the Enron of the magic world. He should have a reserved room in the Gray Bar Hotel. Utterly disgraceful.

I've dealt with Magicbox on lots of occasions, I would trust them totally.
