In the International Magic Video Lecture n°2 Gary performs and does not explain a progressive assembly with queens ,that fooled me completely.
Any hints about this,or wher can I find the explanation? Thanks Marc |

I know that a lecture note that explains that effect was sold somewhere, but I forgot the name of that note. I believe that is one of variations of the McDonaldfs four aces. And I am also looking for that lecture note! Now I intend to purchase his gThe Unexplainable Actsh. Does anyone know whether this book contains description about that assembly or not?

It is not in the book "Unexplainable Acts". I think the manuscript is called "U.P. - The Ultimate Progression"?!

I just emailed Mr. Kurtz about it. Maybe, Curtis Kam has this manuscript. Shame he left magic.

Are you talking about the McDonalds aces type effect, in which he uses 4 different spectators, each one holding a packet of cards?? Because he does explain this effect..It might be in the Vol.1

Denis, you are right. Gary sold this routine separately in a manuscript called UP-the Ultimate Progression. THIS IS A FABULOUS ROUTINE. It use a couple of gaffs but you need to have chops because the sleights neede for it are not for the faint of hearth. In his lecture notes Note From The Summit you will find his handling for the MacDonald Aces, another great routine.

It is not on Kurtz lecture videos 1 or 2 and not on his A1 magicalmedia videos vol.1-2 and not on his book. He sold it separatedly few years ago.

I finally hunted down a copy of this effect. It is pure gold and i think it could win an award for the best method ever!!! The patter is really good but, i prefer to use aces instead of queens. Very clean to and i got it for a steal. I will put a video up on a site with a lot of bites. It takes a lot of time.

Kurtz used to sell a queen assembly called The Ultimate Progression at lectures. It's sort of like his McDonalds Aces but, if you can believe it, even better.

I but this from Gary several years ago after seeing him perform it.
I've always liked it. Not sure if you can still buy it anywhere, although I've seen on eBay before.

An interesting approach to the progressive assembly idea is Phil Goldstein's Picasso Aces. It originally appeared in one of his small $5 manuscripts but it can now be found in Focus (a GREAT little book). If I remember correctly, Mr. Goldstein uses aces with red backs in conjunction with blue backed cover cards in an aces assembly. The red aces progressively assemble one packet at a time i.e. 1 in each packet; 2 in the 2nd packet; then 3 in the 3rd packet etc.
