Frank, where did you get those "Animals"? Gary Animal was talking of making some cups, but I haven't heard that he is back in business yet. I'd love to get my hands on a set of Babes or the James Riser Jumbos.

Those are both very nice collections!

I want to thank everyone for their kind words regarding the interview. Pepka and Scott came in without any axes to grind. They just pushed my buttons and turned me loose!

It was a very pleasant experience for me.

I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I only lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. Elayne Boosler

Richard, that is a fantastic collection you have there. So you are one of the four who has the complete collection of Sherwood cups. Congratulations to that.

Thanks James.

I don't know how many people have the full set of Sherwoods - but Bill Palmer certainly has.

From what I heard there are only 4 people having the complete Sherwood sets. I may be wrong. Brett Sherwood may be able to confirm this.

There may be others - some collectors keep quiet about the conents of their cabinets! Brett Sherwood may not even know who owns a full set since some sets will not have been purchased directly from him.

I don't know of anyone who owns all eight full sets plus the matching combo cups - that's the royal flush of Sherwoods Smile

I bartered just in the last 2 weeks or so and got 2 sets of Animal Cups and a set of Gazzo cups.

Both sets of animal cups hold a baseball with no issue but they are not really the same size. Makes me wonder.

Gary changed the design of the Animal cups last year (in fact, there were a couple of different designs). Personally, I prefer the older version made in the slightly lighter weight copper.

The Animal cups I own have an 8 cm interior diameter. What are the ID's on your two sets?

Brett Sherwood, Bill Palmer, Bill Sutter, and Richard Evans.

I am missing the silver smooth set although I do have 2 of the limited gold plated smooth sterlings. After Brett gets his batch of cups back from the makers, I will have the few missing chop cups I didn't order the first time around. Since I have not found an available smooth silver set (yet), I acquired silver plated, 2 chromed and 2 Antique Bronze finsished sets from Jake (and one from John Mendoza on ebay)....( I think they are all the Sherwood coppers underneath) When Brett took his most recent orders from us, I almost ordered 3 chopped silver smooths so I could pretend (to myself) that I had a complete looking set..... then sanity set in..... The silver plated and chromed will have to take care of me until a silver set is offered up eventually.... at that point, it will probably be beyond my price given the number of collectors who don't have this set.... such is life....

That's pretty impressive, James. How many sets does that make? Sounds like you're close to a full house of combo cups - and you have a couple of spare sets to do some bartering for that set of smooth silvers Smile

My chromed Sherwoods were custom plated by Jake, who did a fantastic job. I'd love to see the antique bronze & silver plates that he did for you.

I will have to try posting the pic later... even though I am using the right file type and the right size and pixels, I keep getting the message that the file is too large.... Stay tuned....James

I've taken another route. I'm putting in the paperwork to simply get adopted by James. This way I will own all his sets when he's out of the house.

James you should be receiving my adoption dowry in 2 business days.
Perhaps you got the the email notification?

I couldn't show pictures of my collection without including some of the great cups produced by RnT2. I have emptied the RnT2 cabinet - the picture is here
