Hi Chuck,

Could you please share one of your most memorable Vernon stories with the Café Members?

Cheers

Michael, Chuck shared one in another post. Here it is:

"At Vernon's 88th Birthday Party, he fell asleep under a huge paper banner that said "Happy 88th."...I went into the computer room where the original banner was made and made on that said, "Happy 89th"...and then tried to convince him he had been asleep for a year".
"Of all words of tongue and pen,
the saddest are, "It might have been"

Vernon had an interesting way of getting a magician to repeat a trick. One night Larry Jennings walked into the castle and did a trick for The Professor and fooled him...Verlnon would never ask for a trick to be repeated. He waited until another magician walked into the room and then he shouted," Hey Larry, do that trick for Joe Blow here." That way he got to see the trick again and hopefully find out what fooled him. More stories to follow...thanks for asking...chuck
