Chuck,
You have obviously been around the block and have experience in so many arenas.
(Magically speaking) What advice can you give that in your mind isn't often asked.
(Did that make sense?) What areas of our performances, whether close-up, parlor or stage should we focus more attention on, or pay more attention to. (in your opinion)

I feel you have much to offer and I just don't want to miss out on an opportunity to gain some insight on your opinions on how we can become the best we can be.

I have a magic school here in Australia. The focus is on presentation. I feel most magicians have more material than they will ever need. Too much, means you can't focus on the ones you really like. You have to pay attention to yourself. You can't see yourself so you have to rely on the reactions of the audience to tell you how you are doing. So many magicians perform as if they are performing for themselves, forgetting that a bunch of people are watching and feeling left out. If you never do anything else, learn to relate to the audience. See yourself as they do. Ask yourself, what are you doing and for whom are you doing it. Remember to cut down the number of moves in an effect, if they have nothing to do with it. Such as putting your hand in your pocket when you don't need to. The spectator sees everything. I tell my students, that if they are not having a good time ( a genuine good time) performing, then how are they to expect that the audience is having a good time. When I leave a performance, I want the people to say..." That guy was fun. I'd like to have him at my house." Not, "did you see that magic, ...etc etc.etc...if that's what they are saying, I did something wrong. You can forget my magic, but you must remember me...hope this has helped...great question...chuck

Mr. Fayne

Can you give us more information on your magic school. I can't find a web site or any other information.

I really like your style and would like to study with you.

Thanks

Gene
