HI
I didn't know where to put this question so I decided to write it here... For several days I have a interview in my lokal radio... I have been asked to prepare one little magic trick with listeners. And my question is: is there any mental trick which I can perform in radio with listeners?? Plese give me some advice about that or which of trick I can perform... With regards Kris |

I'm pretty sure there is a DVD about this, but I don't remember the name.

There are lots of older broadcasts of magicians and effects done over the airwaves that can be found. I can't remember the specific names at the moment, but I'm sure some will follow.
One place to check out is the "Magic Broadcast for Magicians" radio show can be found at http://www.magicbroadcast.com/ and is on regularly. They do effects and you might get some good ideas. There is also a link to a myspace page that also might be of help. One of the old classics is the "Grey Elephants in Denmark" effect found in many beginner books. Here is a link to the effect if you're not familiar with it. It is used by teachers in classrooms regularly. http://home.att.net/~numericana/answer/magic.htm#denmark Good luck. Mark. |

There is also an older thread on the Café that has some great suggestions. Check out: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......forum=15
Also, do a search using "mentalism over the phone" and you'll find lot's of other thoughts on this. Whatever you do, make sure you practice it WELL before performing it. Even though it is over the air and you'll likely be reading a script, you still need to "sound" like you know what you're doing, being theatrical, using vocal inflections, appear to actually be thinking about something, etc... It's all about showmanship. Mark. |

Will you be interviewed in the studio or over the phone?
Depending on the situation, you may elect to perform the magic for the radio DJ so everybody can hear instead of performing it for the listeners. If you're being interviewed in the studio, you could mail a "prediction" to them ahead of time. When you get to the studio you can of course present your prediction/effect in any manner you like. Radio personalities usually have big enough reactions to things to get the listeners excited. How many days away is your interview? Neil |

In the U.K, during the 1940s/1950s,there was a magician, called Sidani, who had a regular spot on BBC radio. His catchphrase was, I believe, "don't be fright!.
