Daryl,
Long time listener, first time caller.
Ok.. not really, but I have always wanted to say that.
Long time reader, and have enjoyed your stuff. Your lecture in Seattle at the VA Hospital in 1990-91 was one of my first Lectures I went to. I still refer to the lecture notes.

I'm happy to be here and I'm ready for action!("Daryl" is my first name so please, no "Mr. Daryl"), does anyone have any questions?

Sir Daryl?
I am a huge fan of your magic and your style.
Your personality is one of a kind, and everyone loves you.
I'm new to magic. Do you have any tips for an introverted person who wants to study and perform closeup magic?
Thanks,
Mitch

Thanks for coming here Daryl. I'm a big fan of both you and your magic, and very excited that you're here.

Glad to have you drop by for a visit, Daryl. Your "Papa Rabbit" sponge bunnies routine continues to entertain my patients young and old. I also get a lot of mileage from the split deck routine that you sold at the Castle swap meet.

Bob sends his regards. Please come down to the San Diego ring (76) for a lecture sometime.

Mitch, I’ve got a great tip for you and it’s the same advice that Dai Vernon’s been preaching his whole life. “Be Natural” and “Be Yourself”. If you’re introverted, then go with it! You can become the world’s most introverted magician! Believe me when I tell you that this could work for you. PLEASE do NOT make the mistake of using magic to hide what you are from your audience. Use your magic to accentuate the qualities you want to share.
Danny, Thank you. You’re right; I still love magic as much today as the day I started. Magic rules.
Jeff, Thank you and please give my love to Bob (Elliott). The Split Deck that you picked up at the Magic Castle swap meet is a prototype of something I plan to release in the future. You have something that very few magicians have even seen. Enjoy!
I’ll be happy to come down to San Diego for a lecture. I love giving magic lectures and I’m happy to go wherever they’ll have me.

Danny, like you, Daryl was also my daughter and my first lecture at S.A.M. #112 in Martinez, California. I had just joined the Assembly and a few months later I was told there was going to be a lecture. I had no idea what to expect, but little did I know that I was in for a surprise after meeting Daryl. My family has been struck with "The Magic Bug" ever since.
At a magic auction last month I picked up what I think is a treasure which I will add to my growing collection of magic memorabilia. I bought a mint condition (in a plastic protector folder) "1973 Daryl Martinez Magic Lecture Notes". I was told that this lecture was the first one Daryl did for our Assembly.
Daryl, sorry for using your last name but that is what the lecture note cover read.
Have a great evening
Dan

Hello Daryl
First of all I want to say welcome to the marvelous Café. we do not know each other in person, but you have inspired me from the beginning of my magic career. I have been in magic for like about 4 years now and I am falling in love with the art ever since. I named my son after you Daryl, and we just celebrated his first birthday yesterday 23rd sep 2007, as for you know my first collection in magic is your revelation vol. 1 through 5, that alone inspired me a lot. I love your work since the beginning, through this post I just want to say Hello and greetings to one of my best mentor or teacher sort of speak, eventhough we never met, but it has been my personal honour learning from you.
Keep the good work and ENJOY !!
Best regards,
Richard Chen
Ps: Please excuse my english because it is not my first language.

Dan: The cover of my very firsts et of lecture notes brought back some very good memories. Wow! I didn't realize that it was way back in 1973! That was a whole 34 years ago... I should be better by now! "Martinez" is no longer my last name. It's a bit of a story that I think I posted somewhere else, but I legally changed my name "back" to Easton about sis years ago.
Richard: Are you serious? Did you really name your son after me? If this is true, I would LOVE to see a photo. If you can, please email me a photo of your son and I'll print it out and keep it in my office! No one has ever told me that they've named a child after me. Now THAT's an inspiration!
A Teles: I look forward to my visit to Brazil. Please be sure to say hello.

Daryl,
I'm glad I could share the above photo. There are 7 great affects in your notes and the one I use and love the most is the Moveless Miracle. I learned it from your Fooler Doolers Volume 2 DVD set.
Thanks again for giving your time to The Magic Café. I hope you come back and visit often.
I have to go shopping now at:

Question: your e-mail is Magic@FoolerDoolers.com right?
