I am trying to find any sources that discuss different theories of mentalism; namely the harms and benefits of using disclaimers, how to frame what we do, whether we should claim powers, or dispute them etc. I am aware Bob Cassidy's newer dvd covers this breifly, however I am looking for more specific and detailed sources.
For example, here is a list I compiled of some different theories and professionals who use them (This is only opinion): Richard Osterlind explains he makes no claims of supernatural powers and instead uses powers we all have and uses them in a unique way. Derren Brown claims suggestion is his primary tool for mind control. Bob Cassidy and Lee Earle do not specifically claim powers, yet they make a point not to dispute them. Both have called attention to the importance of creating an atmosphere in which an audience THINKS you have powers. Uri Geller claims actual powers. Thanks in advance, Joe |

Try to read Tony Binarelli's book (Playmagic, My Way to Mentalism and The Fifth Dimensions. He is italian like me, and actually I don't know if this books exists in english. I'm sure that My way to mentalism is, for the other two, I don't know). I think that he expose nice theories in his books...
