Hi Guys
One of my pet favourite effects with a small packet of cards is Dr Dailys Last Trick. I have tried to make this my own using a slightly different method then published in Dai Vernons Book of Magic. ( I Know that their are many differnet handlings for this effect so I am not claiming originality, I am just saying that I have tried to work out a method that suits me best in terms of design, preformance and misdirection. Again I am not saying the patter is original either. I would be most greatful if you could watch the following video clip by clicking or cutting and pasting the link below. http://media.putfile.com/Dr-Dailys Please give me your feedback as it will be great to hear your thoughts and views. Many Thanks P.S Sorry for Posting this in 2 forums. |

Nice.
I don't think that gag "I will make it jump to the top, now I will make it jump back" fits in this trick. I would suggest rewriting the patter. I do a routien kinda like that. If I can fiquer out how to use my video camera, I will show you it.

IMHO, too slow and only one phase. See Oz Pearlman's "The Daley Trick" on penguinmagic.com for a snappier presentation with more magic. Best wishes.

Sorry: the correct name of Oz's handling is "The Daley Show".

It was technically sound. I do not like how you built up the switching and the did something completely different with the ending. Try adding a 1st phase, as in Wilson's weighted aces.

An excellent start would be to spell the name correctly.
People who work for Theory 11: Do you want a young guy without a stupid gelled haircut or eurotrash jeans for your videos? PM me.

Thanks for your feedback guys. I found both Oz Pearlman's and Gregory Wilson's routine fairly similar in terms of handling but I liked OZ's presntation more. (I found this a little strange as I usually find most of Gregory Wilson's material really good) Watching these videos have really given me a lot to think about in terms of improving my preformance. Also sorry about the spelling mistake, I realised after I had put the post up and recorded the video.
Hey Nathanel, well done for pointing out the spelling mistake, but do you have any actual useful advice that may help me to improve or are you just here to mark everyones spelling. |
