I guess this is a take on the open prediction plot.
http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1738 I watched the demo and it looked pretty good. The deck really only went out of view of the camera for a second so even if a move is accomplished during that time, it would be fine in real performances. Anyone have any comments/reviews? |

I have just had a look at this and also think that it looked very good. It looks like a nice walkaround effect but I too would be gratful for any reviews about this

I wonder what the difficulty is? (sleights involved)for $10 it might be worth it!!!!!!!!!

It did not seem to be like the classic version(s) of the open prediction that I have seen. This is a different approach, one that is not my personal style. Some people might enjoy this or it might fit their act better than it did mine. The technical difficulty is necesarily low but can be made more difficult if you want, keeping in mind that the difficulty would not reside in the central working of the trick, but more in the prep. There are no sleights explained.
Personally I will likely not use this, though I was hoping that I would (pre-purchase). Luke's teaching is very good and is consistent with what I have seen in the past. I am more of a card sleight guy and don't dabble in the mentalist arena very often, in retrospect I probably would have been better served avoiding it- but I don't doubt that it would be much better received by someone with a mentally-congruent style. I hope this sort of makes sense and above all helps- |

Hi Perry, are there any other major cons to Jermay's version besides it not fitting with your own style? (such as set-up, reset, etc.)

Looks like a very fair prediction
Waiting for a review. I got a feeling there will be a serious flaw but I hope I'm wrong

Reset is automatic, but it is not an effect that you would repeat (not that you would repeat any effect right away, but you know what I mean) to the same audience. The marketing tagline says "Any deck. Any time. Any environment." Those are all true and not misleading, provided the deck is indeed full (doesn't necessarily have to have 52 cards, but has to have the right one(s)). I mostly prefer effects that could be repeated (not that I would) under reasonable laymen scrutiny. This is not one of those effects, and to be fair, it does not attempt or claim to be. Don't get me wrong, I think the effect is great and worthy of addition to many peoples' performance repetoires, it just didn't do it for me. And it's not like that's profound or anything, let's face it-- most of us probably have access to the workings of hundreds or more effects, and how many do we actually perform regularly-- probably anywhere from 10 to 40 or so(?). |

I bought this and for $10.00, I feel it is worth it. There is a quick setup you need to do before hand. You can do a bit more of a setup before hand so you don't need to do much in front of the spectator. If you choose not to do the full setup beforehand, then you will have to do a few things in front of the spectator, which I find unnecessary. I would personally just have it fully setup to start and then do a certain shuffle or two.
It isn't really "any card" and you will have those certain spectators who will ruin it, but I feel the way that Jermay presents it will allow for your prediction at the end to be right a great percentage of the time. The method behind the prediction is pretty clever and is something I might use in other prediction type effects. It probably has been done before, but I like the way Luke Jermay presents the prediction. |

For $10 you can also buy a PDF of about 10 card effects.... is this a 1 trick pony or can it be applied to other presentations?
Seems to me to be a st***, one card slight and multiple o*** and one can do the effect easy enough. Am I missing something? No, I don't want to fish for the method - just wondering if there is something new here to justify $10? For $15 you can also get something like Vigil's DIPLOPIA that works with any borrowed deck, for example - different effect - but just thinking of value of $10-15 buck range.

How does this compare to the Open Prediction routine in the Joshua Jay discs?
