I have been using John Bannons Strangers Gallery and Twisted Sisters recently, and people have been loving it. Effects that used gaffed cards are fairly new to me, and I was wondering if anyone here could point out a few effects that might be similar to these, as in using gaffed cards or whatever. Handling of any type is not a problem, so if you know of a good trick along these lines, I would love to get some ideas.
Best, Allen

You should look into Peter Duffies Bedazzled. I hope someone can tell me where it is taught because a friend of mine showed it to me but I don't have the book it is taught in.
Bedazzled is Duffies work on the effect Dazzle by Alex Elmsley. From what I have heard though, and you may want to check this out too, Elmsley's Dazzle can go on and on and on and on and on depending on how many different style backs of cards you have. I believe Dazzle can be found in one of Elmsley's Tahoe dvds. Bedazzled |

I believe Peter marketed that effect as a stand alone item. Probably available from his web site.
Lots of good packet effects are mentioned in the book on packet effects "Small But Deadly". You'd find that a very useful read if getting interested in good packet effects. The research might save you some money. I will have some new (and some re-released) packet effects coming out sometime in 2008 but in the meantime you could check out things like Bob Farmer's "Mutanz" or Paul Hallas's "Especially Wild" two packet effects I would give four stars to (out of four ) Paul. |

By the end of this thread you'll surely have your hands full, as there are many great tricks with which to compile this list.
I'll add a few to get it going: Entourage B'Wave NFW BTW... Bedazzled can be found in the book CardZones, by Duffie and Jerry Sadowitz. Paul, Looking forward to your new material! |

My favourite is Roy Walton's (of CardWarp fame) "Rainbow Cascade".
NB have a look here though: http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......orum=203 |

...and the ever popular MacDonald's Aces. Wild Card is also good.

Wow thanks for all the great responses. I already do a few versions of MacDonalds Aces, and it also goes over very very well. Quite possibly my favorite trick ever

I especially second Magiguy's recommendations of NFW, Entourage and B'Wave. Other eones I like to do are Strange Travellers (Harris/Blaine) and Color Monte. A new trick that is not quite a traditional packet trick, but has gotten great reviews, is Pocket Space.

Perhaps you want to consider about Packet Killer Starring Simon Lovell. Some of the most popular gaffed card tricks ever are featured on this set.

Recently, I'm working on Sam Schwartz's Back Flip, a nice series of revelations, with (ostensibly) Four Kings doing first a Twisting The Aces type of change, followed by all 4 Kings face up, followed by a color change, and ending with a final (quite unexpected) change to mirror backs.
It's in Daryl's DVD Fooler Doolers vol. 3. Daryl doesn't say where to get the mirror backs, and I'll save you the trouble of looking up the thread. Call a hobby store to get what is called chrome monokote trim sheet (it's normally used for coating the wings of radio controlled model airplanes) - 3 or 4 dollars. It's self adhesive extremely thin and looks for all the world like a mirror. With a good paper cutter, it's easy to make mirror backs. Back Flip is a very nicely routined packet trick. Here's a thought for this, or any, packet trick. Keep it in a Z or Himber wallet, with 4 "normal" cards (in this case 4 mirror backs) on the other side. If anyone wants to examine the cards at the end, use a little time misdirection, then give them the cards on the other side.

Of course, in the original Back Flip (described in the Sam Shwartz book) you didn't get the mirror finish, that came later in "Flipped Out".
Alien Autopsy is a fun version of Back Flip with different pictured cards which is fun to do for the right crowd. Paul |

In addition to Packet Killers Dvd and deck, which is a very good source, as SamChak pointed out, the 2Faced DVD and supplied cards is another great source of gaffed card tricks.

Here are some other very visual gaffed effects:
Kitson Killer Monte by Bob Sheets Gaeton Bloom's Miracle Monte Panic (vanishing deck) by Aaron Fisher Side-swiped by Simon Aaronson Ricochet (a gaffed but clean-looking version of Re-set) Printing by Dominic Duvivier (cards take on the images of whatever touches them) Douglas M. |

Kevin (One Man) mentioned "Color Monte" in his short list.
Just curious, Kevin, why you included Color Monte in a Gaffed Tricks list. Is it because CM is such a good trick even magicians forget at times it isn't gaffed? I hope you don't think I'm trying to be a smart aleck here...I assure you I am not intending to be. I love performing CM as I am sure you do. It's just that it isn't gaffed. Regards, Rob |

Derek Dingle’s Out Flushed or his Chameleon card routines, very strong!
Simon Lovell has some incredible sandwich effects using a simple double backer. As SamChak mentioned that’s in the Packet Killer DVD. There’s enough info on that DVD to keep you busy for a year and all the cards come with it! Steven |

What an incredible response! I think this list will last me quite a while. Thanks again for the all of these great suggestions, and if you have any more, keep them coming! I'm sure that others are benefiting from such a list as well as myself.

Chaos 2 is a fun gaffed deck to use. Another one is Spreadwave, though that takes a little work to get right.
