Thanks John for all the hard work.
I just pre-ordered DMF....I am very eager to finally learn the secret behind Dawn Patrol and Beyond Fabulous. I also enjoyed the download and will be using your method. All the Best, Joshua Giles

Wow, what an unexpected surprise. I will be looking forward to "Spin Doctor" (and can recommend DMF highly to those who don't own it). Just read the download, which is beautifully written and thought out. (For DMF fans, it's in the same narrative style as sections of that book.) I went back and looked at "Miraskill" recently in an old book and didn't consider it much. The requirements of the method didn't bother me as much as the presentation. But I like Bannon's thinking on this one and will certainly remember his routining and will try it when the right time arises (or, before that, with my significant other, as he suggests).

Perhaps it's because she's obviously interested in card magic, unlike 99% of the women I've shown "Twisted Sisters" to (nobody could act that well pretending they were interested, Liz is really interested) but I suspect it's that smile and interesting way she tips her head to one side...but I digress. John, be sure to tell Liz she has a small Magic Café fan-club. I've just ordered Dear Mr. Fantasy, and all three Fractal items...and am quite looking forward to the package based on notes in this and other threads. |

I ordered the book directly from John last night, and I can't wait for Christmas! For anyone who's ordered from him, how long does it take to get an email from paypal with the order information, and how quickly does he usually ship?

There was no form on it during the order, but a few days back I did send him an email asking if he could autograph it, and he said that it depends on whether he's in town or not. Let's just hope it's not autographed to my mom's name.

On a tad more serious note, does anyone know how soon you're supposed to receive an email from Paypal after ordering? |

About 20 seconds if PayPal is a bit slow, 10 seconds normally. |

I've only had time to have a quick look at my copy so far, but I have to say that this is one of those few rare books I instantly got a nice warm feeling about.

Well, I never received an email, but the payment was taken from the checking account, so I assume the transaction occured and that the book will soon be on its way. Can't wait!

Okay...then I'd like John to sign the face of a card I selected at random from a shuffled deck, then have the signature disappear from the card and appear in my copy of the book.
But that's just my sense of humour. Signed or unsigned, it's a great book, one of the very best in my opinion. |

Well, I got the book today (came just in time yesterday), and I've already read through the entire book with cards in hand. Let me say that this is amazing and is a great purchase! Everything is usable and packs a lot of punch, and I really like the style that John writes in. Dead Reckoning and Degrees of Freedom - the two effects I've looked at the most - are great and I hope to use them soon (DOF still fools me, and I can only imagine how a spectator will react). The only item I probably won't use now is Dawn Patrol since I don't have a perfect faro yet Now to go back and learn everything!
P.S. No signature unfortunately, but that doesn't diminish my perception of the book or John since he probably wasn't in town (or didn't want to risk signing it to my mom). |

What level of magical moves does the book require. Just curious. I'm almost definitely going to make this the next book I buy, but if there are a number of sleights I don't know, I figure it won't hurt to wait a few months.
You can leave out basics, but any difficult or named (Elmsley, Vernon Multiple Shift) moves would be nice. Do you know if Mr. Bannon will combine orders (as I also need Spin Doctor)....
