I remember an interview where Simon Lovell said he had been a conman for ten years or so. As much as I think Simon is very knowledgeable and a great magician, I find it hard to believe he could actually cheat at a game using the techniques he demonstrates in his videos. Has anyone ever thought this? Does someone share my opinion?

Not me.
If there is a single truth about Magic, it is that nothing on earth so efficiently evades it.

My opinion is that Simon has been around, and my advice is never judge a book by its cover.

Who said I used the techniques on my videos, etc.?
The techniques shown on those are mainly for magicians and magical purposes though many could and have been used in games over the years. As to my ... um ... more criminal days, it's not just cards that make a conman. Nuff said lol All the best, Simon |

Simon, I do believe you, that's why I said, "with the techniques he shows in his videos", that's the part I found hard to believe, not that you cheated, I'm sorry if I was misunderstood tommy.

This thread is too much like that scene in Woody Allen's "Annie Hall" where Marshall Mcluhan comes out from behind the sandwich board at the movie theatre to tell the amateur movie critic that's ****ing Woody off to tell him "you know nothing of my work"... "how could you possibly think you understand what I do"... etc, etc.
In this case magician8 is the movie critic, and Simon is Marshall Mcluhan. |

Simon said he was a conman, but he didn't say what games he specifically used himself. Maybe he sold phony securities, or resurfaced blacktop driveways with used motor oil, or sold overpriced toner cartridges over the phone. There are lots of cons.
Woke up.
