Hi Neal,
"Suggestive Mentalism" is a very small but powerful quasi-underground booklet written by Ford Kross. In the right hands, it is sensational. For further information, contact Ford at Fordkross@aol.com and he will be happy to discuss it with you. Best, Richard Busch |

Can somebody describe the contents of the booklet? It seems kind of expensive (130$) and I was wondering if it was suitable for real-life close up situations.
Comments such as - anything by Ford Kross is good - Ford Kross is a must read - Allow me to add my endorsement to Ford Kross' books - You won't go wrong with anything from Ford Kross - wouldn't part with them if someone held a gun to my head - all of his work is fantastic - I don't want anyone else reading Ford's books but me! - I have all of Kross' books and they are good and practical won't help (especially if they're coming from PEA members) Thanks |

lol that's cute talisman, very vague, but to be fair what talisman wrote was not on your list, highmagic. I'm learning here too, I've never heard of the book or the author.

Based on my limited knowledge of SM, I believe Dr Busch's comment that "In the right hands..." (my emphasis) is crucial.
I have the two major sources of influence for SM, and they describe routines/acts that surely has tremendous impact on the participants. It is not primarily aimed for close up since a lot of it is based on group psychology. ...but, it's probably also worth knowing that Mr Kross will only sell to those worthy. You may look out for Orville Meyers Telepathy In Action, which is one of the influential sources and an incredibly powerful one... but don't expect to get it cheaply. /Matias |

Hello all,
Mr Kross' booklet is an extension of the Telepathy in Action manuscript/concept. Indeed, what Ford provides is a complete act demonstrating the power of suggestion. It is indeed not geared for close-up performance, but could be used successfully in a parlor-type situation. Is it worth the asking price? Many times over if you perform such an act. It definitely is not for a beginner in mentalism, nor in showmanship for that matter. Is it for you? I cannot answer that for you, and will agree with Richard on this, re: In the right hands... And Ford makes sure of your credentials before you can acquire the manuscript. Having presented the context, and without being able to give much more details too close to the contents, let me end by saying that this is one of the best purchases I have ever made! Hope that helps, Martin |

There are a lot of good books and or effects out there, some many of us know about and better still some of us do not know anything about. I am not a I have a something you don't, nah nah nah type of person. Up until this thread, I have not even bothered to read it (long story).
Off I went to sit down to read this rather unassuming LITTLE booklet. First off, if you are new to mentalism, leave the booklet alone! Geesh! There is a reason why, some books/booklets cost a lot, to keep them out of the hands of the inexperienced. I believe when one has a good grasp of mentalism and has spent time developing ones skill's, then booklet like this are useful and highly sought after. Frod Kross has a style unto his own and he does produce some quality booklets, it is not the length of a book, but rather the information that is contained in it. I do know if this book will be of value to you or not? Only you can answer that question. Study, Practice, Practice and still practice even more, Kross stuff is not for a new mentalist. |

Don't take me wrong here, but if you "need" info on this booklets, it's because you are not ready for it !!! Otherwise you will know what it is...
Those who know, will also know that the value is secondary...!!! The money ask is not the point here... You don't just pay $130 for the act, but for the many years of experience of Mr.Kross... Because, that's what you need, you need a lots of experience to really understand, and appreciate the information inside this kind of book... Humbly Kuffs |

Also, Ford is not in the business to make money, and will only sell it to you if he feels it is appropriate for you and that you will do it justice.
Note: I have PMs turned off; if you want to reach me, please e-mail Andy.MagicCafe@DucksEcho.com!

Orville Meyers "Telepathy In Action" RULES, I paid $275.00 for it on EBAY and it is worth every penny. I have performed the act in English and Spanish in different venues and I get more laughs than comedians. I never knew this document existed till someone mentioned that it was a highly sought after AL Mann (AME) item. When I heard that I knew it was a gem and mentalism of the highest caliber.
If "Suggestive Mentalism" by Kross is an extension of "Telepathy in Action" I would buy it at $130.00. It is a 30 minute whole act that you can carry in your head and have the audience rolling in laughter at your ability to send your thoughts to spectators. G0THIKE |

Would you need both or does Ford Kross's give enough info to work out the basic of Oliver Meyers?
Or are they both totally different? Sound like great publications. |

Both of these acts sound very good, but how do they compare to "kentonism", which appears to be the modern version?.

Talisman,

The act does not use stooges. Just imagine grabbing 20 spectators and starting the act. Then based on their response and how they "receive" your thoughts you eliminate a few of them. Then at your "mental command" they do what you want them to do and you can make them do whatever you want them to do and see or feel etc..It is like a hypnosis act but your are not using hypnosis. Hope that helps.
The act works for me and I have performed lots of times in English but mostly in Spanish and I am not a fulltime mentalist. I mostly do manipulation, doves and the box illusions stuff but I do mentalism when I get work. Actually my assistant "partner" does the mentalism in my show and she can do the act to some extent and I am working on it with her. Hope that helps. Anyway in a different matter, if anyone wants to help me about the design duplication I am asking about, I am still waiting. G0THIKE |

Thanks a lot for the info.
I have Kentonism amongst others, and am familiar with the dual reality / instant stooges / mass behavior principles. However, I feel they are not applicable to real life close-up situations... Thanks again, I just saved 130$ ! |

Ok look, it's not a question of stooges, unless you for instance consider subjects under hypnosis stooges (which they're not). No need to question this anymore, because this is the answer.
Frankly, Telepathy in Action and, I assume, Suggestive Mentalism are probably more powerful than anything you've seen or experienced. If you wish to express full mass mind control then this may be for you, if not then this is not for you. /Matias |
