A few weeks ago I posted a question here about problems with my Devano style rising card and I received several suggestions. I would like to say thank you to everyone but also to mention that Martini of Martini Magic, who makes his own rising cards, was very helpful. I wound up buying one of his units (even though I have several already) and I have to say that his rising cards are extremely well made. Much better than the others that I own. Not only that but his service is superb and his life time warranty can’t be beat. I highly recommend that you check out Martini’s website for any of your gaffed card needs.

Thanks for the info. Can his rising cards be done in a zip lock baggie? And don't suppose someone could post his website. Much appreciated.

Yes his card can be done in a ZIP LOC baggiee.....When Marty demo and performs thismiracle he produces..he puts the cards in a glass so I do not see why a baggie is a problem. Also his site is http://www.martinismagic.com

100% agree. Recently bought one from Marty and it is superb, flawless and built to last a lifetime with proper care. The bonus is that Marty is a heck of a nice guy with terrific customer service. He could be charging double for these decks and selling just as many.

Thanks for the post. Based on this thread I took the chance and ordered several items from Martini Magic. (First time for me.) Everything was great, but I am specially happy with the quality and smoothness of "The Rising Cards" unit.

I had this type of rising card effect years ago, (Think I got it when in Vegas at least 15 years ago) and loved it.
It ended up breaking and I have purchased quite a few other types and was never satisified with the effect. When I saw this on the Café I felt it might be the same one I loved and it IS!!! This fry's EVERYONE!! Service was exceptional and FREE replacement if it breaks.. Can't ask for more then that Don |

Can anyone tell me if you add the 'unit' to your pack of cards or this this a gaffed deck?
Another question: Does this have to be done with three cards? Or can the rising be done with just one card or perhaps two cards? And how is this for walk around (angles, reset, etc)? Thanks! Simon Simon |

Greetings Guys;
Many Thanks for the kind comments, they are most appreciated. Simon, the trick comes complete, you get the deck of which a small portion is a self contained unit for making the selected cards rise. You can do one, two, three, four, as many cards as you wish to rise from the deck. It is ideal for walk around, and to reset, all you need do is cut the deck. Angles are not a problem, and as mentioned above, the rising unit is guaranteed for life. If it should ever break, all you need do is return just the rising unit to us with 3 stamps for return postage and we send you out a new unit. Douglas, to answer your question, these are two completely different methods of a card rise. Gary's card rise is great, and is the highest quality you will find as are all Gary's poducts. I obviousy cannot go into how his works as it is his product and that would not be fair. But I can assure you that you will be happy with his rising cards. My outfit I can tell you about, it is a strung block of cards with a moving weight inside that controls the rise. You do have to turn the deck end for end for each card to rise. The speed is under your control by merely standing the deck straight up, or tilting it on an angle you can control how fast or how slow the card rises. I use a toupee tape on my units to grip and bring the cards up. I'm sure that either will fill your needs as both are excelent props. I hope that has helped answer your questions, you can always PM me with any other questions you may have. All the Best Marty |

I have seen Marty's products first hand and will say they are some of the BEST on the market. Marty takes a lot of pride in his craftsmanship and it shows in the effect. There are other card rises out there, and while they do work, I believe Marty's rise product is the best on the market, both in functionality and guarantee. I have used the riser from ellusionist and a few imported ones. While they are similar in design, they are somewhat rough and infact I ended up needing to shake the one to get the weight to move.
Id like to also mention that Marty does DVDs and they are available at your magic shops, or online shops. His card splitting one is a great tool and will have you making your own unique gaffs.

I first met marty at a convention in Pa when I was little. I kept in touch with him for a while. I told him I broke my arm in one of our emails(it hurt and rendered me magicless) and he sent me a free surefire force card(only 1 hand needed to perform) that I still have today. he is a great caring man and his splits are AMAZING. I also have 4 rising card units and plan to buy more of his items at bob littles supersunday.
