Dear Richard,
Enclosed is a copy of the letter I sent you about the problems happening before.I do not know why do not you reply. I am eagerly waiting for a new and friendly relation with you. Please accept my words and let us change it in a good way. Hi dear Richard, I have read your email. As I explained you, the design and function of “Automatic Fire Cage” is totally different from yours because it will fire automatically and can make both rabbit and dove appear. I repeatedly told you that I did not copy it but you do not accept. You are an American dealer that I respect and want to cooperate with so I decided to remove the item from my website in a proof of my honesty and friendship. About the Fastest Trick in the World, I mean flower items I should say that I have seen the item in many old shows and in many different performances. The only similarity is between the feather flowers that are so similar all around the world. So I am sure that theses are among classic items. I know many people who copied our items. It is happening here or there. I know it is not ok. But I do not know why you do not stop it when I say I did not COPY and when I want to have more friendly connections with you. I thinK our customers are the best judge; they know who to choose and who to buy from. Hope to hear from you soon Regards Tora |

This was posted on another forum "Tora has been advertising with us for years and we've never heard any complaints before. Since they are located in Iran, be patient and give them some time."
Is this true you are in Iran?? If so why are USA dealers supporting an Iranian business??? |

Has anyone noticed all of the Tora stuff out on Ebay? I wonder if this does not cause their effects to be overexposed.
I really love classical magic and dread the idea that someday a cheap ripoff artist might just come up with something like the "Blackstone Garden of Flowers" or "floating lightbulb set" and putting it up for sale with closeups on a mass auction site. ugh! I think it is best to support the dreamers, artists and builders of the magic community that are going to be there to help generations of upcoming magicians in a face to face kind of way. I think that I want my buck to be spent either with the craftsman or with a brick and mortar shop with a proven history of helping magicians to always become better performers. |

I will not patronize any dealer carrying products that bypass trade embargoes via third party holding companies. There are plenty of other reputable dealers and my business goes with it.

I personally would never intentionally order something from them but I would never ask a business not to sell the products if asked because it would give them a disadvantage in the market place IMO.
Educating the consumer would be my choice. |

I've never posted on the Magic Café before. I do have a tremendous respect for manufacturers of magic whose original concepts and excellent executions create props worthy of owning and using. I admire Richard Hughes work immensely and Tora's original works. I have no "dog" in the current infringement issues being discussed. My post is merely to point out that for what it's worth to those of you participating in this discourse, who may have called attention to your sentiments as to Mr. Tora's Iranian origins, that the significance you may attribute as to Mr. Tora's national affiliation may be misplaced. I do not know Mr. Tora personally. However, in his post, he identifies as a "Persian," not an "Iranian." In identifying as a Persian, Mr. Tora is disclosing to you that he is a Jewish refugee from Iran, not, strictly speaking, an "Iranian." There are Jews from Iran, dispersed all over the world, who've never accepted change of government under the Ayatollahs. For years, hey have suffered horrendous political oppression by past and present Iranian governments as a result. Many of these Persian refugees live here in the United States. I've been privileged to work for members of the Persian community here in the U.S. As to the posts in this present forum, regardless of what you may argue about ethics or legal controversies, Mr. Tora has made clear that he is a "Persian" living and working in Thailand - a political refugee from Iran. I merely ask that whatever disagreements you may have as to business practices or whatever you may posit as to understanding international law as it pertains to copyright and copyright infringement, perhaps it might be more prudent to remain focused on those issues. I hope that Mr. Tora's family remains well and safe.
