I just picked up a make up case this weekend that works perfect. Here is kind of what it looks like.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ALUMINUM-MAKEUP-BRUS......53.l1262 There is also a whole section on this site about how to carry your tricks. I go to see Denny perform at the Magic Castle a few months ago and stopped by his shop in Vegas two weeks ago. The Hocus Pocus site is pretty good too: http://www.hocus-pocus.com/magicshop/ |

My store sells a few different cases, but in all honesty, you know what I find that works best?
A fishing tackle box and a multipocketed small gym style bag. If you are lugging around large items, maybe a small roll along suitcase. the tacklebox is perfect for coins, cards, gaffs, supplies... the larger stuff fits in the suitcase or gymbag. Also - check out a photography store - they sell cases with foam inserts that you can cut to your liking.

I have had good experiences with Williams Magic. They ship for free and they do price matching. Their posted prices aren't the best out there, but the price match makes it more than fair.

It is a downloadable DVD so you can get instant access (after a long download). http://penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1162 I never would have purchased this if I had not gotten it for free but I have to say it turned out to be a really a great DVD. It provides a ton of storage options with a ton of great ideas such as turning you prop case into a close-up table. It covers gear from pocket organizers and inexpensive case options, from small tackle boxes to larger cases, stands and tables. Really great stuff about managing props and looking professional. Stuff you normally have to learn from the school of hard knocks.

I think Hocus-Pocus is the best. They have the best customer service and are always a pleasure to deal with. Not to mention, they have killer sales (sometimes up to 30% off or more). They also give you a free poster or trick with orders over $50 (check the FREE STUFF) link on their page.
Just my opinion. Robert Haas

A shop that is local to me, but has a large collection of DVD's is Diamond's Magic.
This isn't affiliated with Paul Diamond, but is run by Eddie Gardner, and is in Peabody MA. Check it out: http://www.diamondsmagic.com/ Be sure to call him if you don't see something on the site, he gets new things all of the time and the web site is always at least a little behind what has come in.

My favorite is The Magic Warehouse ( http://www.themagicwarehouse.com )
Fast shipping and good prices. Their sales are also very good. I also like getting things from other magicians as much as possible. The Ambitious Card ( http://www.theambitiouscard.com ) is a nice place for quality hand made items. Don |

Hey! Williams is in Tucson, Arizona! Those guys are characters, really nice, family owned place. You're right about their posted prices, loyaleagle, but they do price match so I love to drive over there and waste hours watching tricks and spending money.
In fact, I'm going there today to get B'wave that we talked about in the deckless thread.

I wish I lived where you do Preston...I only get to get shipments from them....the closest shop to me is Barry's and it's a pretty good hike. I do chat with Emory over email sometimes though and he's always a nice guy. Very accommodating to make the customer happy.

As long as people are throwing out all kinds of sites, I'll second a vote for Elmwood Magic. The owner Paul Richards is, in my opinion, one of the best dealers in the business. I will cover all my bases and tell you that I know Paul personally and I do have an Internet affiliation with Elmwood, but what prompted me to do so was years of wonderful service prior to any relationship.
