Does anybody have or have used the Better Newspaper Tear by Baxt? Is it worth the money as it is a bit expensive. Thanks in advance.

I would say no. Only if quick setup and reset times are that valuable to you. Otherwise, it really looks the same as the other (less expensive) routines available.

Thanks Brian..Its on Hank Lees and it looks so easy to do that I was hopping it would be worth it. I'll just think about it for awhile I guess.

I did buy the trick and I felt it was overpriced. Not that it isn't a good trick but to the audience it looks identical to the Anderson paper tear and the method are very similar.
Basically all he has done is make for a way to reset the trick faster without having to glue the paper. The gimmick for switching the paper is a bit cleaner than some of the ones involving folding a piece of metal around. But is it worth $100 considering most newspaper tears are $15 to 25.00? Only if quick reset is important to you. The audience will see no difference. To me quick reset isn't that important and I wish I'd had stuck with the standard Anderson Paper Tear instead of spending $100 for this one. |

The ads says 30 seconds. If you know what you're doing, I'm sure that's doable, but I'd say more realistically 2 minutes, unless you're frantic and rushing. I'm sure it can be done, I just can't foresee a situation that you need 30 seconds or else. I haven't bothered testing this time out myself. Oh, the other plus is that you don't need to use the chemicals most (but not all) of the other ones need. For some, this is a big advantage, too.
