This is an instant download only and goes for $20.00. Seems like a bit much for a download and no physical copy. Any thoughts? |

I would think this is a case of what you read is NOT what you get...
Would love if I was wrong though. |

Actually what you read IS what you get. surprisingly enough! this honestly did fool me quite a bit at first, but after a second watch of the performance video I had an idea about how this works, which turned out to be partially correct. this is one of those effects that is a lot simpler than you would imagine, while simultaneously causing you to kick yourself for not realizing how it is accomplished. an interesting idea, to say the least.
Thanks, Justin |

With a review of this being your first post, I will have to politely disregard your opinion, just kinda fishy to me, but that's just me! I'll wait for some more reviews before plunking down any hard earned cash...

The effect does what they say it does, but you could easily do the effect other ways.
There are really only 2 moves in the entire effect. One is an often ignored but classical move, and the other is a little know gem. The effect itself isn't that complicated and is actually quite easy to perform.
Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.

Hi Dustin,
Do you own this effect? if so, could you post a review? pro's vs con's...value for the money...is it original with Oz? Old routine with a new spin? Thanks!

It looks to be a couple old techniques put together into a pretty solid routine. I don't have it but I can see what's going on and I like the way Oz sells the effect. I may pick it up to get his insight, although $20 does seem a little steep for an instant download.

It looked good enough to buy it so I did. Everything in the advertisement is 100% true. It really is very fair and pretty easy. I'm not going to give a full review but I can give a couple of pro's and con's
Pro's 1. The advertisement is 100% honest and the demo is actually a full performance. What you see is actually what you get. 2. Uses a borrowed deck and left completely clean 3. No gimmicks or set-up at all. All you need is a borrowed deck. 4. No angle problems or too much misdirection needed 5. Involves the spectator and the spectator can really shuffle the deck themselves 6. Test conditions effect Con's 1. If you have a heckler spectator who must question and examine everything at all times, this may not work 2. Requires one sleight that may be tricky for a beginner card handler Although it is a little expensive for an Instant Download, it is definitely an effect you would use for your stage or close-up gigs or may just be the perfect trick to do when someone hands you a deck and tells you do an effect. Definitely recommended. One of the best impromptu card effects out there, it's up there with ACR and Triumph
Unleashing the moment of astonishment, one impromptu situation at a time.

Magicsquare pretty much nailed it.
Old moves used to make a "sorta' new" effect. The presentation is new, the effect itself is not. Pros: Uses a borrowed deck if you like. Most of the effect is hands off. Only 2 moves. Everything 'looks' very fair. Essentialy angleproof Also, note that there are no forces involved. Cons: Will definitely take prctice. Not that big of a wow factor. Worth $20? If you don't know the moves used, yes. He removes the card from a closed box, which I use often to avoid palming when I do card to wallet. If you don't know how to do that, it's worth $20.
Think inside the box. . . it's less crowded.

'Harry in Your Pocket' Darwin Ortiz, Cardshark page 113.
Almost exactly the same effect. Pearlman's is a little different as far as I can tell. But its pretty darn close. Tim

The effects on the DVD and lecture notes are far beyond your abilities. (They require mastery of the mechanic's grip.) It would only break your heart. Sincerely, Darwin Ortiz.......(This post has got to be in my top 5.) |

When I heard Oz said on the demo that there's no way to get caught, I immediately think that it's risky but misdirections cover the move. Nonetheless, from watching the demo video, it sure looks very clean and it fools me - I haven't a clue how this is done. It doesn't look like palming, but if it is, Oz is so good it's like invisible palming...

This looks very good
Don After watching again, didn't like the fiddling for a moment when he gave the box back to the audience but still looks great, just might download this Don |

Tempted to download this - but if this is accomplished the way I think it is, it seems it could be quite risky with some spectators. I don't own this, but that is a concern I have.

Sorry guys, didn't realise there was a video, only watched it there, figured it out, very good idea. Very simple.
If you cant figure it out its worth getting as it's practically fool proof. |

This is ridiculous...and typical.
Tim Jahn is right: This is the same effect as Darwin Ortiz' "Harry in your pocket". But of course there's a big difference: Darwin's routine is a well staged, dramatic showpiece, the method is indetectable. Compared with Darwin's routine, Pearlman's method is inferior, his presentation amateurish. Pearlman's handling of this well known effect may deserve half a page in a magic magazine, but that's about it. |

Sold me, looks to good to pass up and no really negitive comments as of yet
Don So this is the same exact effect, only done differently by Ortiz? Now you got me. Need to look this up. Don |

No Don, Its not exactly the same. As Uli said, The presentation that Ortiz Uses is much better. In the Ortiz effect the box is sealed with a sticker and the spectator initials the sticker before it goes in the pocket. I will not go into methods of course but consider this if you will, This effect costs $20.00. For another $15.00 you can get a wonderful book with 20 or so more GREAT effects and sleights. And its Ortiz. 'Nuff said.
