Sleightly, I believe both Bill & Bruce both have a book with the same name. The tricks contained on each book, however, are different.

'Magic Book' by Harry Lorayne
'Magic and Showmanship' by Henning Nelms These two books contain enough concepts and information to keep me going for years and years. And if I was to add one more I'd have to say 'Full facts of Cold-reading' by Ian Rowland. These are my all time favourite three books and I use concepts from them all the time in my close-up entertainment. Socrates 'Simplify' - Henry David Thoreau |

It's very interesting to see who likes and re-reads what. "Art for Art's sake, and money, for ***'s sake!" I love the old books, I like to boogie...
For effects & routines, my favorites include Supreme titles like: McComb's Magic and The Faucett Ross Book Magic Business titles: It Takes Guts, ******! (Notes by Paul Diamond); Hustle, Hustle (Joel Bauer), and anything by Stan Kramien, including Secrets of The Illusion Show Business. My current new favorite is Versatile Card Magic (Revisited), by Frank Simon. I'm fascinated by the work by Frank Simon and Earl Nelson, and captivated by the quality of production by Mike Caveney. More than that, however, I am intrigued by the few brief details provided in the book, and in the May 2003 Genii about Frank Simon's life and interests.

Currently, Peter Samelson's "Theatrical Close-Up". Hard to find, but well worth the search.
