Why do magicians mostly use Bicycle cards?
Are there any other with the same quality? |

several reasons.
1. they are familiar to the spec, other brands sometimes arouse suspicion. 2. they have borders, if the pattern goes to the edge of that card, you can't do any tricks in which there are cards reversed secretly. 3. they are very good quality, they will not wear out nearly as fast as many others. 4. they have an air-cushioned finish, it has a nice feel and they fan easier to use. if I missed any please post them. |

They are the most widely available.

Oh, and the majority of gimmicked cards are availible in Bicycle design.
In fact, you'll have trouble finding gimmicked cards made with any other design.

Yes, for all of those reasons. They're just flat-out good quality cards. I've actually heard Tally-Ho's are better, but they're not as readily available where I live. I'd probably have to really search for them or order them on-line.

Bicycle cards are by far superior to any other cards out there for all the above posted reasons.
Gimmicked cards come in Bikes, they spread and fan lovely and they're reasonably priced. I wouldn't use anything else, EVER. |

The best deal you can get anywhere is at Costco, they are $13 for 12 packs. Sometimes you can get beter deal at eBay also.

$13.49 actually, for $.125 a pack.
Or you can get them for $6.75 for a 6 pack at Sam's, which is only 1 cent more (well, half a cent actually) The cheapest I could find TallyHo's was about $1.45 a pack minus shipping, and they have a min. order of $200... /sigh. I'm only using Bikes right now because you can't go wrong at $1.12 a pack which is way less than half the cost of TallyHo's bought at any store. |

I second RedStreak's advice - go to Costco and buy them in bulk. Best deal on Cards!

I've never noticed any difference in quality with costco+Sam's club 1.12 bikes vs the 2.79 ones sold in other stores, I think costco + sams club must get them directly from USPCC and sells them with barely any markup.

Many of the decks I've gotten at Sam's have cards which are noticeably out of register i.e. the colored back is not centered on the card. Otherwise, they're generally fine - and CHEAP.

Daryl comments on his video that cards that are slightly off center make great natural one way decks. Maybe a seconds pack is truly a steal. I buy single packs at WalMart for less than 2 dollars a pack.

Familar to the spectators, most card gaffs are in bicycle cards. They are actually very poor quality actually, but they look nice and feel good. I like them to be poor quality because I throw cards away like wrappers. The moment the card dirty of look their "snap" they are gone. I wouldn't want to waste my money on more expensive good quality cards that I am going to throw away in a wekk anyway. Oh and also they are available around here in 12 packs for $13.49, which is cheap.

Yeah, I do the Costco deal too! I buy a couple dozen at a time.
However, Costco DOES get the rejects. My buddy is the ast. mgr there and he told me that's what they get. Some decks aren't as noticable as others. Every deck I've ever bought is off center in some way, but who cares? |
