Depends on how you define 'success' MP.
I don't have a fixation with Angel; I wouldn't spit in the guys face if he was on fire . . . AND it doesn't take THAT MUCH 'energy' to post something about him here and there. Let us gloat. He had it coming -J

Well "gloat" he "had it coming" "spit in his face if he was on fire". Sounds like hes invaded your space and is affecting your mindset not in the best way. And basing an performance on showing the world how it should be done motivated by this deep dislike if not hate for Angel isn't the purest motivation.
Angel obviously has his own demons to contend with don't let him tarnish you. Don't even notice he is there. All of the above are not constructive ways of using your energy or thoughts. If you want to put something out there do it from the pursest motivation. I do believe energy is charged and like attracts like. Ive seen things turn around for people big time when they let go crap like the above. I have even experienced it for myself.. |

It's very telling that almost all of the negative reviews (and boy are there a lot of them) have a consistent theme- (apart from the obvious horror at all the ego-centric lip synching and dancin' bunnies) which is that many people couldn't understand why all the illusions are so SIMPLE and nothing like what they have seen on TV. Event the one review (the Moveable Buffet) that tries to be a bit positive says that what goes on is no different to other Vegas illusions shows and asks- If you're doing such basic stuff- why get CRISS ANGEL to do it?
All that clucking are the chickens coming home to roost. This is what happens when you build a reputation on effects that can only be achieved on TV- and then you are suddenly asked to perform in a realworld environment- and you simply cannot deliver. In a way- the "fourth wall" he broke just fell right on his head. If Criss is feeling a little uncomfortable- it's all those Doubting Thomas' hands trying to reach into his side and butting up against a sequuinned belly button ring.
When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth...

I just feel bad for those poor birds and rabbits.
(And also anyone who paid to be in the audience.) It's all Karma, baby. Like JC said though, what's done is done. He does not need our help in burying him...save your shovels for some good old fashion Civil War artifacts. DT3 |

I was wondering how Criss Angel got voted magician of the year .What do they base there decision on .Popularity ? Is it rigged? I don't understand how he got it how ever many years in a row. There are so many other well deserved magicians out there that deserve this jump in there career.

I think that Angel's explosion in the U.S. as opposed to Derren Brown's disappearing act on A & E, says more about the American public than it does about either performer.

It probably says as much, or more, about their respective cable networks. Derren was on Sci-Fi; Angle was on A&E.

I compare Criss Angel's show live and on Mindfreak to Spongebob. Spongebob is funnier, more entertaining, doesn't scare the crap out of kids, and Spongebob can stay under water a lot longer than Criss (he also doesn't need dog the bounty hunter there to say what had happened was real.)

It was also staged to add drama to the 'reality' show.
I have never seen Criss Angel do anything on tv that can't be replicated live. Most of the tricks on there are old hat. Old concepts repackaged. Anybody who knows anything about black art can figure out how the water-walk was done. Not that it was exactly the same thing, but the principles were. If magicians really "beLIEve" that his illusions can only be done with camera tricks, maybe it's time to go back to their books. Quote: On 2008-09-10 14:55, Greg Arce wrote:
