Hello all, can someone please help me by answering this question..
I need to 'blacken' a length of flash cord to hide it in a black art setting. This will mean a long line of flash will appear from nowhere. If the flash cord remained white, it will stand out and I don't want that.
So my question is, can I dye flash cord with ink? Or run a sharpie over it until its totally black? Will it still burn properly doing this?
Thankyou. Scott.

I just tested it and yes it still burns. However, very uncleanly. The ink of the sharpie stressed the burning process and the flash lost its intensity, and left a lot of residue that fell to the ground. So that's out of the question.
I cannot find a supplier of black flash cord unfortunately.

I might be best cutting long strips of black flash paper and joining them together.
Any other ideas?
By the way this is for a flash appearance and I don't want to use the flash pot. Its not as intense as materialising from a long line of flash flame

You went ahead and tested the sharpie method, now just try to dye it with clothing dye.

Do some tests, see what works best for you.
