Jay Chou, a famous Taiwanese singer, published his new album, and one lyric of his Song "Mr. Magic" says: the gesture of my Elmsley count is perfect.
Consider he's affect to Chinese just like old days' Michael Jackson to the world, there will be no magician dare to perform tricks involve Elmsley count to "layman" in China again...I just can't imagine how much damage he does to the magic society. |

That's a Chinese album...
I just translated that sentence into English... Jay Chou likes to do magic, but obviously he did not know the rules of a magician. Now there are tons of people asking on the net: what's the Elmsley count?? Mr. Magic: http://cache1.1ting.com/wmam/zzzzzmp3/20......ay/5.wma |

Let me defend Jay just briefly.
He is a very good musician and song writer, maybe the best in Taiwan. He is a little full of himself but overall a nice guy. The chorus says: Read your mind read your mind, What are you thinking? Use the classic force My sleight of hand technique is precise, my Elmsley count is perfect. (The Chinese word can be translated to gesture or position but to all the people here who speak English it is very clear that gesture is not the correct word lexically). Who says you can't fall in love with a magician, I don't need to explain anymore. He is a clown and I am a master magician. There you go. I am not going to to translate the entire song but it is kind of a love song and although he has much better songs, the "cute" crowd seem to like this kind of song. Damage done to magicians through this song - 0% Jay's real Elmsley count - Not even close to 80%. Is he an amateur magician. Yes. Did he expose something. Well the next time you are at a poker game and you say you have a mean second deal, you did exactly the same. You mentioned a name. Even if all your friends and their friends Google themselves silly, I will still deal seconds under their noses and ...wait for it ...I suck. Good guys will not be phased. For those that wanna hear the song, here it is. http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=PLrI51X5Vag P.S. Yes he does mention classic force also. Would love to see everyone Google that. |

abc, apparently your Mandarin has got pretty good! I've been meaning to PM you about something, but nothing has happened. But I haven't forgotten. Much love from me to you and your wife. On topic: exposure? Yeah. But it's the kind of exposure we can live with. |

That almost works as rap too.
Add some provocative ambiguity about what to on each count till four...pushing this and taking back that and we might some serious hip-hop instruction on doing right by Elmsley.
...to all the coins I've dropped here
