Anyone seen 13 Ghosts and Hearts in Atlantis? They are about to open over here and wondered if they were any good!

The set in "13 Ghosts" is fantastic!

The rest of the movie is rather lame though... especially the 'acting'. It seems the director told everybody to scream hysterically at each other all the time...

Hearts in Sucklantis blew. Hard. The plot development was pitiful if it was there at all. Wait for the rental if you must see it.

Thanks guys, I'm surprised they could screw up a King book, with Anthony Hopkins in it. Looks like I'll give these two movies a miss.

Definitely avoid 13 ghosts! It's more comedic than scary!

Hopkins' character was pretty cool and he did a nice job with him but it just didn't go anywhere. Smile

Paul, Sir Anthony doesn't always guarantee a good flick.
Loved Silence of the Lambs but the sequel, Hannibal, was a major bomb.
(And that's in the North American sense -- as 'lousy', not the Brit sense, as 'great').
cheers,

Interestingly, Sir Anthony was nominated for the Acadamy Award (may have won it?) for the "Silence of the Lambs" and was actually only on screen about 8 minutes!
That's a strong presence.

I agree about Hearts in Atlantis, It could have been so much better than it was.

Does anybody have the old Anthony Hopkins movie (may have been his first) called "Magic"? I have been looking for this movie for awhile and can not find it. This movie gave me the creeps as a kid.

Yep. I've got it and it's one of my favourites.
