What do you use magicians wax for?

Multi multi uses
1. A smear on back of a card makes a selected card disappear. 2. Anchor threads 3. Anytime you want to temporarily hold two objects together for whatever reason. 4. Many marketed effects use wax which I can't mention here. Skullocation is a great card effect I have used for years. There have been many articles and books written on uses for it. Hunt them out. Good luck, Merl

I use wax on the end of my Spider Pen. That's the only time I use it.

Just one card item with the wax. Old thing and out of print.
One book I know of using wax for a variety of objects: "Tricks From The Wax Museum," by Robbins. Small paperback. Source: http://www.dennymagic.com |

The latter is of course Ron Frost's booklet and also available from him. He had some with him at Metro Magic 4. Apart from other objects has about five card effects in it, some of them letter and number cards.
Was the question a general sort of "what is it used for" or "what do YOU use it for?" Paul. |

This may be off topic but if you add baby oil to paraffin will it breakdown its consistency and make it tacky (more like magicians wax)?

Knucklebusters will hate me but I have a huge inferiority complex around whether any d***** l**t out there actually looks good so, may I burn in hell, if I can slip a bit of magicians wax into a routine that needs a DL I will.
Just got to be careful that the wax isn't going to interfere with the rest of your routine, its very embarrassing when multiple cards start to stick together. |

Howsabout Tommy Wonder's use as described in the Books of Wonder, for one of his effects still often used, from remarks here in the Café? (don't want to give too much away, but should not be hard to find, or PM me)

The only use I have for wax anymore is for card on ceiling and for anchoring IT. I never use it on cards anymore since I got science friction, mainly because the wax invariably transfers some residue to the other card and you wind up with sticky cards that you never intended to be sticky.
