Hope it’s temporary. I would hate to lose them.

Yes I was using Chrome, and what you are describing may have been causing the problem. Thanks for the tip, much appreciated.

When I tried it I was using Safari on an iPad. Didn't work the night before but the next day it did.
Just glad to see they are still around. |

Safari pops up a warning message: "This Connection Is Not Private. This website may be impersonating 'johnsonmagicproducts.com' to steal your personal or financial information. You should go back to the previous page."
Clicking on "Show Details" adds: "Safari warns you when a website has an expired certificate. This website's certificate expired 38 days ago. This may happen if the website is misconfigured, an attacker has compromised your connection, or your system clock is incorrect." My system clock is fine. And I've been seeing this warning message every time I've checked their website for over a month now. Maybe Johnson just needs to update its website's domain validation secure server certificate?

I contacted them, they updated their certificate and it came back up in a day or so. About two - three months ago, I had the same problem on Lee Asher's site while wanting to buy some 605's. It would not let me do it (even if I didn't care if the connection was safe). I contacted Lee via Twitter and he got it fixed. It took a little longer but I was able (and still can) use his full site as he fixed his Cert. Maybe someone could call Johnson and let them know so they can update their cert. When I ordered from them in the past, I have always called in my orders and paid over the phone but that was several years back.

I had some recent custom work done by JP and Kathy Lawton was very helpful. The next time I tried the site I had the same security issues, so I e-mailed Kathy directly and she told me they are upgrading their security but the site is still secure. Firefox has an advance settings option that allow you to make a security exception and since I did that I can access the site with no problems. The Edge browser and Chrome still pop a warning but Chrome gives the "Advanced" option and you can make Edge cooperate by clicking on "details". Hopefully that helps...

Still can’t seem to place an order on their website.
The security warning issue seems to be resolved. But now the “reCAPTCHA” feature (where you have to re-type a phrase exactly, to prove you’re a real human being, and not a [ro]bot) is disabled or defunct. Oh, well... sigh.

It would be a scary world for coin workers without the reliability of Johnson . also, being stuck with the high priced coin
"prima donnas" would be terrible. some of these dudes do good work, but are spoiled brats too. I speak from experience with dealing with them. I prefer Johnson. if your spectator can see such a difference between Johnson products and one of the specialists' gimmicks, maybe you are not trained in using a quality gimmick effectively. I can use a cheap Chinese flipper coin without being detected, and create miracles. ok? you just have to think and use your brain in how you handle these things and mask them. |

Johnson can sometimes do custom stuff too. Call them and ask.

I really like Johnson products, it's quality work, and I have a few of their coins and have had them happily for many years. The big coin craftsman out there typically make a lot of gaffs that Johnson doesn't make, and so might be the only place you can get them. I think the prices for these gaff coins is many times a bit off the charts, but it's whatever the market will bear, right? That's the system, but it's always good to get something of good quality at a great value. Of course, to each his own, as people will do different things as to their wants & desires, and their pocketbooks. For me, I don't use a lot of gaffs, and have made a way with the simpler ones from Johnson's for many years now, and they have always been more than good enough for the journey.
Finally, I will say that there are good craftsman out there that offer exceptional work for better than decent prices, and offer a variety of choices so that everyone can get & afford something good. I will mention craftsman/ magician, John Jurney as an example of this.

I just set Norton Safe Search as my search engine on Chrome and tried this site first (since I know it was not working for me last time I checked by both bookmark and Google search). Fortunately, it popped right up using the Safe Search function. Full site seems fine. I am not sure if my changing search engines was the fix or if they fixed their security certificate in the last week or two, but I am glad to see it up again.

I'm still encountering a problem which continues to prevent me placing an order on Johnson's website.
Until recently, there was an issue with its expired “secure server” (domain validation) certificate, which resulted in warning messages when trying to access the website at all. That appears to have been fixed. But there’s still another problem. The security check (the “reCAPTCHA” feature, which requires customers to re-type a phrase exactly in order to prove that they're real human beings) appears to be disabled or defunct, making it impossible to login or checkout. I still keep seeing a little error message there on the login page, just below the customer email address and password fields, which says: “reCAPTCHA V1 IS SHUTDOWN. Direct site owners to g.co/recaptcha/upgrade.” That's what I consistently see when using Safari. I just tried using Mozilla Firefox, and still get the same error message. The error message doesn't come up until you try to log in, or check out. Just can't seem to place an order. I've emailed Kathy at Johnson Products about this, but never received an acknowledgement or reply (which also seems odd, as their customer service is typically responsive and excellent).
