Piers;
My wife has undergone a bout with cancer (she is doing very well) and I gave her a coffee mug which says: Cancer, you picked on the wrong !@#$%"!!
My prayers are that cancer has again selected the wrong target

THANK YOU. Thank you, Thank you.

I am at home now.
My colonoscopy and CT scan were clear.
My operation to remove part of my colon meant I was in hospital for 10 days.
I lost a lot of blood - I was VERY scared - I prayed alot, for me and others.
Now I have 2 Ops to recover from.
I am very tired, and await further results.
Having my metal staples out was not fun.
I now hope that all the cancer has been removed.

My BEST wishes to all. These things put health and life into perspective.

Piers.

Yes, keep your spirts up. Ken Klosterman went through similar stuff and is doing great now. Don't give up.

Scott, glad things are going well for you also.

That's right. Keep that perspective, and you'll be alright no matter what happens.

Thank you.
In about 2 weeks time I start 18 weeks of chemotherapy.
I feel rather daunted by it, but know it is for the best.
Best wishes to all, and especially to anyone feeling lonely or scared.

Piers, stay strong. You'll probably feel like crap and have to vomit a lot. Your energy will be sucked right out of you. You'll have some good days, but a hell of a lot of bad days.

And when you have one of those bad days, go to the computer and post it here, and we'll try to give you an energy boost.

The single coolest thing about magic is that it really, truly is a fraternity. As I said, come back on those bad days, and we'll prove it to you.

And on the good days, let us know, and we'll all feel a bit better.

Piers,

I am currently undergoing chemo myself. I have completed one round - 3 more to go. I have a round a month, and mine is strong. Stoney is right, you will have good and bad days, but they can control the nausea much better now. Make sure you get Emend - it is a lifesaver. You will have many more good days than bad.

Please let me know how I can help.

Scott

Piers,

Where was I these past two months? You are, of course, in my thoughts and prayers. Keep a positive outlook and listen to the guys here on the Café who have (or had) cancer and are delaing with it. They are giving words of wisdom. Staying positive is so very important. The right mental attitude will help you very very much during these trying times.

Best,

Mike

Keep on going piers...

my mum had cancer for two years, chemo is a necessary evil, she got through it all, and you have to remain positive as it will absolutely work real wonders I promise...

you know what was weird? after she lost her hair, got better and it grew back, her hair went back to the brunette she was, no grey hairs appeared for a good 9 months or so! She lost a lot of blood too, in some ways that helped, as she had transfusions of "fresh" healthy blood in return to help boost her system...

you need to take care of yourself mentally and physically...remember still to have some fun each day, however you chose to...

I was just thinking about you today my friend. Wanted to hop on and see how things are going with the Chemo. What a horrid drug! I'm really looking forward to a few months from now when I can read your post titled "Cancer Free!" Until then, you have my daily thoughts.

Keep kicking butt,
