Bob,
Just curious how long you've been doing this, where you learned it from, and what type of torches do you use or do you make your own? Thanks, all the best! J |

J,
I was taught by someone I met in the John Strong show in 1968. My last fire eating show was at the 1980 IBM convention in Norfolk. It was very difficult to pull the plug and I was very good. It was a real crutch trick for me. Best line. "You guys laugh now, five thousand years ago you have made me chief!" Your welcome to it. Most of my fillings fell out and had to be done again. I was only 30. All the fire eaters that I've met that did it for any length of time, have had bad teeth. Not a good long term health choice. There is also some concern about long term toxic exposure. I had one friend, younger than I was, that noticed a numbness in his arms after doing it less time than I did. With all these new fire rules it's difficult to pull out a lighter let alone some torches. I just didn't want to take that chance. Stay well. bob. |
