Most Taxidermist use urethane foam like is in the floatation of a boat the hand wrapped forms, and paper Mache forms haven't been used in years, whiskers and feet pads have to be injected with formalcahide are they will fall out taxidermied animals are stiff and not made to be handled much. Pretty Water Taxidermy I can post some photos if you like. Owln_1

A taxidermist will not be able to do much with these. Read my post and you will understand that these are not made like they would. So there is little they could do with it.
You might have missed the point, these do not look any stiffer but are mde with with stiff form. And any taxitermist will tell you that their figure will be STIFF. They use a foam form as mentioned. My point was that they have appeared to glue pieces of fur to the form. I mentioned this since some might have wasted money thinking it was like sewn skin or form that was filled with a form. Since it is not, one wil not easily be able to remove the form to make it flexible. A taxidermist will work with pelt when soft and sew it together. The wildlifetreasures figures are not the same method of construction. Now since this is real fur, any user then does not have any PETA issues. SO if not, yes I would say if you have a pet that passes or want to ...well you know....Yes I might indeed take it to one and have him form him as I need it. Quote:

Your welcomed.
I cut one open on the bottom. Hollow yes but stinks something horrible. The type of black material they use is chemical laden. I tried removing some fur. It is glued on and rips very easy. the hide is fragile. I think for some photos they might work. I think Mike was going to try it mixed in with his real rabbits and report back. So far he has not posted. |
