For those who know Jerry Conklin of the Amazing Conklins - he will be undergoing surgery on June 9th. You can drop him a note at

608 Maple St
Colon, MI 49040-9385
(269) 251-3326 (cell)

On a side note...We need your help...several years ago when Bob & Elaine Lund were operating the Museum of Magic Jerry LOANED them an original illusion painted by Mel Melson in the 1940's - Jerry wrote them to make arrangements to pick up and was told that he could not unless the museum were to go out of business! Several additional attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful. This is NOT how to treat someone who has spent a lifetime in magic and given so much to the magic community. Anyone with information that could help would be much appreciated. Please PM me....

Hi Rich,

As usual, you're one step ahead of me. I just posted info on Jerry in the Illusion section. Maybe, this year, we can finally keep Jerry off the Genii lift???

I think we managed last year but it was only because Mike chained him down.

You know I can blame Jerry for being part of this goofy crew. He had had a heart attack and was still climbing the old wooden A frame to hang lights. Now that was an experinece everyone should miss. So I yelled at him and starting helping with things to keep him off the ladder. One thing led to another and now 25 years later, I am still there. Maybe in another 30 years, someone will pull me off the ladder to thread the traveler.

Get well soon Jerry. Artie is worried he will become the senior member of the crew!

It better be at least 30 years...it would take someone that long to figure out what you do!

See you soon.

Keeping Jerry in our prayers.

Talked with Jerry this morning and he is feeling better. Still on oxygen and probably will be from here on. He certainly appreciates everyone's concern...and love....this IS what makes us indeed a great brotherhood. He wanted to make sure everyone knew how much he appreciates all the cards, visits, flowers and gifts.

Glad to hear that Jerry is doing better. What ever became of the conflict with the Museum of Magic?
Never criticize someone else until you have walked a mile in their shoes. Then, when you do criticize them, you will be a mile away from them and you will have their shoes.
