This evening I went to a homecoming parade for a local high school in a nearby town. Since I had my magic "toolbox" in my truck, I decided to perform for the people waiting for the parade to start.
I found a nice little spot and started doing some effects, in about half an hour I had a nice sized group of people watching and really having fun and enjoying themselves. I saw that two police officers were starting toward the little semi-circle where I was performing.I thought the group was taking up to much sidewalk space and needed to be split up. I was surprised when they started watching and laughing with the rest of the group, I got a great reaction when I took the officer’s wristwatch and handed it back before I finished up. I watched some of the parade, decided that it wasn’t one of the best I’d seen and did some more magic for a different group. I have made several new contacts that wanted to know if I would perform at their next party. I had a great night, and hope that anybody else that performs like this has had the same reaction. What are some of the effects that you use in your strolling magic, I’d also like to hear about some of your experiences with this style of magic? Feel free to post it or E-mail me.

That sounds like it was pretty great for you,I’m jealous. I don’t really do walk around stuff, people run from me when I try. They think I’m going to mug them or something.

Hey magicman, sounds like you had a lot of fun, and made some folks happy at the same time. Good for you!
Ichazod, I think you should stick with the midnight shows you do at the graveyard!

Here it goes I tend to routine things in groups of three reason is like all books got a beginning middle and end so I will do crazy mans handcuffs linking rubber bands broken restored band and sometimes rubber band up the nose yes I know that's four for coins I do Solaris misers miracle coins across lethal tender Richard Saunders fiber optic extended oddly I use my props as accents to my costume rope can be used as a sash or belt silks can be rolled to look like flowers the rest I can carry in my pockets I sometimes where a hat but the misers miracle pail is what I use to collect donations. Ultimate three card Monte and a close up pad rarely do I need a table or even a bag case to carry the stuff sponge balls and a thumbtip I carry for backup in case I need a longer act or something happens and a prop is damaged to where I can't use it. Its a security blanket what I do is look for other ways to use the thumb tip other tricks with sponge balls and rope also other effects using coins the core of my show stays intact but the props can have a different function creating a entirely new show using the same props. Lets face it even I get bored doing the same thing over and over so now I can change it up keeping myself entertained.

I'VE NEVER BEEN BORED WHILE PERFORMING! --And, I've been performing, and making money performing, since I was 13. (that's 70 years ago.)
I never perform to entertain MYSELF! (THAT, as the old pro's. usta say, is masturbating on stage.)

I'd like to hear more about masturbating on stage. Sounds like a winning act.

I'm sure some jerk off will do it eventually if not already.

Thank you for the blessing! I can use all of those that I can get!
I was a bit "direct" in that comment, but, sometimes one must get to the point! I get so tired of people on the Café saying to someone else: "Have fun!" Our "task" as performers is to help others have fun! See ya "down the road"! O
