I think Arrco US Regs are the ones you want. I have yet to experiment with them, but I hear these are the better of the two.

I think you're right and I do now remember one of the guys saying to get the US Regs and not the others! They are a bit more expensive than the Streamlines but still pretty good in bulk! They have a very cool back design IMO!

Mickey, I've been using Arrco US Reg for a few months. I was introduced to them by someone in Vegas and I love'em! I rank the handling pretty close to the Gold Seal bikes from Richard Turner.

Thanks Pep!
It just dawned on me that it was Dave Buck who showed em to me so I reckon they're acceptable! I think I'll order a 12 pack and give em a whirl! MMc |

I've had similar issues with bikes and also Tallys. My last 5 packs of Tallys were printed in a very poor way (the white borders weren't equal, the pips too close to the edge...etc...). Also I noticed the loss of the bikes' quality over the last 12 months... I'm only using bikes for gaff tricks now, apart from that I use split spades, or the above mentioned arrcos and wynns...

I purchased a couple of the blue backed Ellusionist's Master's Edition when they were on sale several months back. people were telling me how great they were.
I was not that impressed with them. They are printed on a heavier stock so they handle quite differently. I don't care for the way they shuffle or spring. They fan well at the start. I don't handle my cards in a rough way and these don't seem to last much longer and standard Bikes. The printing seems to be well centered. I would prefer a standard Ace of Spades instead of the new design. The cards did have a tendency to bow not long after opening the box. I put them in my vise to flatten them. They will not fit in a standard porper clip because of the added thickness. I don't see them as being worth the addition cost. I bought them when they has a two-for-one sale on them. |

I split cards on a weekly basis and I noticed that the newer bricks of bikes that I bought aren't splitting in the same manner. I am not sure what it is, something with the mending process of the layers seems different.

Can I order the gold bikes from anywhere else besides through Richard?

Oh, and I agree that you'lle's way of prepping a deck of cards is well worth it. Dan and Dave also have a shorter version of doing the process with just your denim jeans. Not the same result but much faster to do.

As far as I know Richard is the only supplier of the Gold Seals but the last I checked he was still offering a 2 for 1 sale!
I agree the Buck method is quicker and easier on the fly but nothing I've found beats Youell's prep over all! I can do a pretty good job in about 3 mins. but often take my time and do 2-3 decks in a sitting! I ordered a doz. Arrco's yesterday and should have em the middle of next week. I'll post a review after I've burnt through a couple decks! MMc |

Mickey/haroldross,
Thank you both for the response.... Respectfully, Rochaz

U.S. Toy in Leawood, KS had some Gold Seal Bicycles when I stopped by this week.
If you are in the area, stop in, it is a very large shop within a humongous store that sells toys and educational materials.
It's never crowded on the extra mile....

I had been following this thread and hoping it wasn't true. At least, I was hoping that you "card guys" were just much more perceptive about very slight differences. I've never been able to pull off a faro, so I was hoping that you guys were just being super picky... like the way I feel about the differences between different brands of guitar strings. Even though I've been using bikes for magic for about 20 years, part of me still hoped that the cards would not be different enough for me to notice.
Well... dang it! I just bought five new decks from a local supermarket. They're just the regular bikes that say "air cushion finish" and "rider back"... you know... regular bikes! Well, they aren't the same. Not even close! The color white is way off with a slight blue hue. The finish is TOTALLY different. And the cards themselves feel and handle like cheap plastic. They handle very "slippery," but not in a good or consistent way. My st**p o*t f**se shuffle is bummin' right now! This is a sad day for me indeed. I could really use a hug right now.

Oh, and they don't fan for crap either. New deck day used to be a happy day for me. Now I just want to cry. It's like when they changed the formula for Coca Cola, and it sucked. Bring back the old Bikes!!
