Where to start where to start... There is a lot of information out there. Here is a list of DVD I have that are just rubber band magic.
1. HotShot with RubberBands http://www.magicmakersinc.com/dvds/hotshotrubberbands.html 2. Magic with Rubberbands with Dan Harlan 3 DVD set http://www.llpub.com/zenshop/index.php?m......_id=1402 3. Band Shark by Dan Harlan http://www.penguinmagic.com/product.php?ID=1071 4. Joe Rindfleisch’s EXTREME RUBBER BAND MAGIC http://www.llpub.com/zenshop/index.php?m......_id=2212 5. Jumper by Joe Rindfleisch http://www.penguinmagic.com/specialorderproduct.php?ID=11308 6. Jeff McBride - Magic At The Edge http://www.llpub.com/zenshop/index.php?m......_id=2493 Now I would start with HotShot with rubber bands for a beginner, then I would go to Dan Harlan's DVD's also Joe Rindfleisch's products. Jumper is with a broken band. Jeff McBride has a great flourish with rubber band called Star Gazer very good DVD. All of these can help you. Also the best size for band tricks are size #19 bands ( http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p......CL163579 ) You can get pound at Staples for about $5. I hope this helps. If you need some more help just send me a PM and I'll help you the best I can |

HotShot looks very nice, thank you. I might check that out.
Erm... "Rindfleisch" means "beef". His name is "Joe Beef". How did he come up with that? Ah, by the way: If any german guy looks in here.. where can I get a substitute for those #19 bands? (Or even better: Can we get the original #19's somewhere here?) |

http://www.vinnymarini.com has some really cool rubberband magic that you should definetly check out Michael Ammar also has a DVD on rubberband magic and he's pretty much one of the gods of it. I THINK he MIGHT have a manuscript teaching some of the more "finer" points of it. I have a video tutorial I made for one of my little subtleties that I think makes the crazy man's handcuffs better IMHO. PM me if you are interested.

The Jeff McBride is not just rubber band if you follow the link. But it is a great DVD on small but big impact tricks and prop management, just a great DVD to own. Hope that helps on those who don't own the DVD

Don't forget to add a few books to the list (or am I showing my age by suggesting that ).
Elastrix I & II are pretty good (especially vol. II, which features Rindfleisch, material written by Stephen Minch). There's also a good deal of material scattered throughout a number of books and magazines (a pretty good amount found in various issues of Apocalypse). Additional video resources (among others)... there's a nice penetration on The Daniel Garcia Project DVDs (volume 1), and Greg Moreland has a 2-disc set called Rubber Band Magic, which is a sampler of material by various creators. Plenty more to add to this list, I'm sure. |

The two most informative people in rubber band magic are Vinny Marini, and Vince Mendoza. There is much written about these two rubber band guru's, so do a Café search for the details.

Of course you can't forget Elastrix I & II, I just listed the one I have and ones that are great for beginners. Also just to complete the list you have:
Bent Touch Slink by Daniel Garcia http://www.ellusionist.com/bent-touch-sl......cia.html Also the loops DVD and books, cause what are loops, just invisible rubber bands. And there is a lot out there. You just have to do the extra little search for them. |

Al, you're modestly neglecting to add yourself to the list as a resource. Where's that video of you doing the boomerang band?

My boomerang rubber band trick is still up on my web site. It is yours for free as long as you pass it along to others. The boomerang is in the public domaine, so feel free to use it http://www.juggleral.com Enjoy

I'm so glad you asked. With Chris Kenner's "missing Link" you can not do the one hand display. I do not take any credit for this trick. The one hand display was invented by both Vinny Marini, and Vince Mendoza. Vince calls his "Found Link" and the Vince Mendoza manuscript is the best buy in rubber band magic there is.

Had my eye on Vince Mendoza's manuscript but had something else on the top of my wishlist at the time. Now that it's up there on the list, I can't find it. Does anybody know where I can purchase his rubber band (FLRT) manuscript?

You must have backed up into the meat grinder and got a little behind in your work. . .
