Yes that was great. I've never seen that one before either.
I like the added touch of the costume change at the end. Thanks for sharing. Bob. |

Looks like someone just simply got the idea to combine Geo-Metrick with a doll house and just a soupçon of Origami... plus the unnecessary afterthought if a throw-out streamer that added absolutely nothing.
I might have liked it if it had taken about half the time... and if he had not tried to "dance". If a magician has no sense of musicality, he should just quite simply not dance... let the dancers do that part, if it's needed. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was very mediocre, in my opinion. |

There was no reason or motivation to put someone in the box.

Yes there was Pete. Although you may not be aware of it...all leather pants come with instructions in the pocket that direct all rock stars to play the guitar and if you are a magician ...to put a girl in the box...it's the law! LOL

Its just tubed out with triangles
I agree with simpson half the time and the illusion woudl have been worth watching. it also needs 12-14" legs to get it off the floor this will do two things. make it more pleasing to watch in general and more easily seen for the audience and two help make it look more deceptive as it will let them see the thinness of the illusion. not wanting to be specific here as to not expose anything all in al it was not horrible. sam

I have seen this advertised before, it may have been on Tilford's site before he shutdown. I don't remember for sure.
I like the illusion, but using the tube in the top half of the box isn't needed just taking the top half of the cabinet speaks for itself. I agree on the costume change, it took too long to reveal and seems to have lost the impact. The performance could use some work but that could be said for any performance. I'm not big on all the dancing you see in magic now, just give me a the straight old get out and do it approach. JC

It is up to the performer to bring some interest to the presentation by bringing his personality or character into the equation. That is why Harbins presentation of the Zig Zag was successful. Plus the Illusion has to be a true mystery! I think a lot of these cube-zag or triangle type illusions are not strong mysteries. Just puzzles that leave the spectators thinking, “wow I wonder how she is hiding in that little box” |

I thought it was presented well and that it is entertaining enough. I have done the konundrum kube in all situations and it amazes all the audiences and I don't do any flashy moves or dances. People want entertainment but when you show them something mindboggling that is the last thing they remeber. I disagree with the whole costume arguement. The red really stands out. I would buy this over the kube zag as it is basically the same idea to the audience but at a fraction of the cost. However I am not to impressed by the kube zag in the first place. To me that one is just too obvious. Anyway thanks for posting.

I completely missed the costume change as well...far too much time in between. I think in order for that to ever work, there needs to be a LOT of emphasis placed on the original costume. To me, the only costume changes that have every really made an impact are the quick change items, or the pieces like Danny Cole does. I think too much time passes and too much is going on with most of these bigger illusions for the costume changes to ever really make a difference. I've seen changes done with pieces like the sub trunk before and the costume change fails to ever impress me.
I'm with Pete on the lack of motivation...I get very bored seeing someone put someone else into a box and cut them up, move pieces around, shove blades and swords through...it gets very dull without some kind of explanation or story behind it for me. The exception I've seen would be Hans Klok since his illusions take about 8 seconds to perform because his work is so flawless. If you can't make it happen like that, at least put a routine or a story behind what you're doing. Making a girl disappear inside a box simply for the sake of doing it is uninteresting. I've seen lots of illusions like this, and seeing as how I don't do stage illusions I don't know how this one is done, so it's not the method that bores me. It's the performance that lacks any reason beyond "look at me, I'm magical." Anyone with enough money can buy this stuff and perform it...sadly money doesn't seem to buy talent. These kinds of things can very easily become a dime a dozen- seen one, seen 'em all. Maybe performers should be required to audition and show some skill before buying this kind of stuff.

Streamers were corny.
Missed the costume change, they put very little if any emphasis on it. Agree with "why", something simple could easily have been inserted. Still not bad, some room for improvement like most of us.
