Steampunk:

Finally, we begin to return to dressing like ladies and gentlemen, using courtesy and manners and opening our eyes to the wonders around us.

My dress style is VERY Victorian and most of my effects are time period appropriate as well... although, in the true steampunk tradition, I mix in the modern.

God bless you, steampunk. Long may you reign. We may, at long last, see the death of the "slacker" look.

“That Infernal Contraption” has been my dream project for about six-years now! There are no words beyond Thank You to say to Michal and Wack-O-Magic for making this huge undertaking a reality!

It’s a space/time thingamajig machine that transports your audience’s imagination back to other times and places, and makes you a star as you take them on a magical Science-Fiction Steampunk Journey!

________________________________

This ain’t your Grandfather’s Square-Circle!
This is very new & very old & very special!
This is: “That Infernal Contraption!”

An ornate Victorian-Steampunk inspired example of wood cabinetry, with gizmos and gadgets and thingamajigs and knobs and switches …that allow for intergalactic time-space-travel… and huge entertainment value.

Jules Vern, H. G. Wells, Charles Dickens, and Edgar Alan Poe would have loved this prop!
The Outer-Cabinet opens up to reveal an Inner-Chamber, both rest on an art nouveau base.

The conjurer weaves strange tales of half-mad inventors and secret laboratories where ramshackle machines create a vortex making teleportation possible. He demonstrates the cabinet’s “present” (outer shell) and “past” (inner shell) and how in combination space-and-time can be manipulated and warped at the magician’s will.

Imagine being able to produce Jack The Ripper's bloody gloves, Edison's first light bulb, John Wilkes Booth's diary, Queen Victoria’s wedding veil!!!

Not only is this a beautiful and collectible artifact, it is a practical and logically themed variation of the classic Square-Circle, with numerous improvements in design and function, allowing for a considerable load capacity but the ability to dismantle and pack almost flat. No one will ever guess that this contraption is based on a classic method.

The painstakingly fabricated and gimmicked components are very deceptive and the entire unit plays huge, but packs into a small aluminum case for transport and storage!

Each individually constructed and hand-finished piece will be:
—Each unit hand-numbered by Wack-O Innovative
—Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity
—A full Story-Presentation by respected bizarrist Walt Anthony
—Performance Rights for story and presentation
—A protective aluminum transportation case

Here are four new photos I took of my own “That Infernal Contraption” that Michael posted on his Wack-O-Magic Blog.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions at all.

A flea circus makes perfect sense to me for Steam Punk, even without the tiny goggles.

Even time travelers need to raise local time and local area funds now and then--it is difficult to to find 21st Century money in the 19th Century, for example. That is why Pop Haydn does a medicine show. It is a perfect vehicle for raising needed funds. How else are you going to buy parts to repair your devices?

Selling a little medicine, selling quack machines, fortune telling, vaudeville acts, magic, music and other similar skills are perfect for traveling strangers who need to make money in a hurry without leaving much of a trail.

Pop, when Big Daddy Cool needs some lettuce he just knocks over a bank, dig ?
Swing hard, swing often, and we'll catch ya on the Flip-Side!

Was wondering if any one has played with this Idea. I was playing with the Idea and lets be real I just like playing dress up.

And I saw Iain's post and will be surfing it soon.

I love the steampunk character, but I also like doing other characters too. I got around this conflict by having my main character (steampunk) enter his time machine (large prop with lights and sound effects) and coming out as someone else in a different time period and country. Now I can be chinese, indian, and other people including a Barney Fife from Mayberry.
