Maybe this is a new idea, maybe not. I was toying with the idea of "companion websites" for marketed effects. These sites would offer things like tips, online access to the handling, tutorial videos, performance videos, any updates, and discussion forums. This could be a huge asset to those with internet access and could help to vastly improve effects and make them more usable for every person. They would, of course be password protected. Usernames and passwords could be included in the hard-copy manuscripts, or a password algorithm could be used so that a password that follows the algorithm is printed in the manuscript, then verified at the site. I'm a web designer by trade, so if anyone is interested in this I'd be happy to discuss it with you. Any thoughts on the concept?

I'd be glad to help, my aunt does web hosting and design. She lives right next to me so if I need to talk to her about anything for my site. But I'd be glad to help. I could easily send videos as I just got one of those video things where you put the tape in from the camera. my e-mail is dj@trilliansweb.com if you would like to talk more.

I think you read my post incorrectly. I appreciate your offer though, it's very kind. I was wondering if people thought such a thing would be a good idea for ANY effect, not just mine.

I'm already doing this at http://www.sleightgeek.com
Currently hosting private forums for: Meltchange, Flight 204, and Healed and Sealed. It's a great idea and it works well. |

"Deep Astonishment" has one.
Thought: Why does man kill? He kills for food. And not only food: frequently there must be a beverage.
