I do not own ALONE, but I currently use a custom made, tiny and very sensitive magnetic detector that performs wirelessly and use it exclusively for my "which hand" routine and nothing will replace this.

That said, I CAN see some serious benefits of having a magnetic sensor that is "portable". I look forward to seeing what creative routines will come out over the next few weeks leading up to Mindvention.

I want to preface this by saying that I am a customer of Christopher's, and am in no way affiliated with Alone, or any other TI products, for that matter. He described Alone to me some weeks ago over lunch, and my previous comments were made on the basis of this information (along with my opinion of his past/existing products - many of which I own and use).

I certainly can't speak for Mystical Matthew, but can understand how he could come to the conclusion that he did, if the demo of Alone had been an example as it's sole purpose/function. But, as has been clearly indicated by Christopher (as well as Matthew), it is not. There is more to come.

I do, however, take issue with this notion of absolutes - that either a person is "lying" or "don't [sic] know what he is talking about."

When dealing with opinions and perspectives, there is a lot more 'gray area,' than right/wrong. But, as is often the case, when people are passionate about something (including their loyalties to certain products/brands), defending an opinion becomes akin to protecting one's own turf. It can get emotional, and sometimes ugly.

My opinion stands firm. But that doesn't condemn Mystical Matthew to the claims of the above-quoted post - he's only expressing an opinion, based on the information that had been made available to him. It's his absolute right to do (right or wrong).

Now that that's all cleared up, let's get into discussing health care!

I just wonder if I'm missing out on something here.

A new "thing" is put out.
There's no explanation as to what it can do or be used for.(OK we can work some things out based on previous knowledge, experience etc")
Only a video of öne of the weaker effects this can acomplish"
Demo videos are going to be drip fed to us on a week by week basis

But "Get your orders in now" seems to be the message.

Even if this is the best thing since viagra (which it may well be, judging from some of the posts here from people more in the know and more informed than I am)

Is this really the way to treat potential customers?

This could be just what I've been looking for, but I find myself feeling like I'm being treated like a mushroom. Kept in the dark and fed Bull s**t.

If Ford said "We have a new product buy it now." We could all probably plump for it being some kind of car, but how many would buy it when they don't know if it's a pick-up, a saloon. a muscle car or some kind of petrol tomato juice hybrid.

Or, like I asked at the begining, am I missing something?

But if you knew that every car Ford put out was FANTASTICAL then you may just plunk down your cash and fo'get aboud it!

On the other hand hang out to see what happens. If you are really interested call the creator. They can talk.

I can see your point & I wanted to just answer your post on Christopher's behalf as I know he has very high standards when it comes to both customer service & treating his customers with the utmost respect (as do I)

Our intention is not to feed anybody bull s**t, on the contrary. Our intention is to show (over the coming weeks) exactly what ALONE can do in real live settings. Too many demo videos these days show nothing at all & we wanted to do completely the opposite by laying it all out on the line.

Christopher's pre order post was made out of necessity as he was getting so many private PM's from people wanting to pre order it. It just seamed easier to offer the pre sale rather than keep contacting each individual PM as they came in. This way if anyone feels they would like to pre order this product before it's official release at Mindvention they may.

Incidentally, if you click on the pre sale link Christopher offered a bit more of an in depth description is given as to some of the possibilities with the ALONE unit.

I hope this explanation helps Steveline as it is not our intention to mislead anyone. Again, too many people are expected to pre order these days with no videos at all, we are attempting to do our best to change that trend.

If someone was thinking of booking me and asked what my act was like, do you think I'd get the gig if I said

"Well you can see a video of one of my effects, though it's one of the weaker ones in my act. I'll tell you a bit more next week".

By the way. Don't read anyhting into the viagra refrence. Though I've had to drop the break-away-wand from my act.

Steveline, I almost agree, too much pre-sell hype from everyone who sell's something, and then the long intro's on the video's, then they play with the video so you really have no idea what's going on, But with some one like Chris Taylor or a company like Outlaw and Promystic, they have such a good reputation of honesty and quality that we trust them, some even show support simply by buying a product in advance, I am one, I will buy this as I have no doubt when it comes to these companies I have mentioned. Trust has been earned, quality has been proven, effects and routines have been added by the best in the world.

Who can post when and where Mindvention is this year.

I hope nobody feels insulted by my post, we just seem to be going more and more over to over hyped effects using Dali'esque demo videos giving us no info at all.

And I'm as much to blame. My first things from Outlaw for example was a " Lets see what this is all about when it arrives" kind of purchase.
(it certainly won't be the last)
And I've got "Till Death" on pre order and I still really havn't got much of an idea what it is.

So feel free to hurl those hypocrite labls at me

I've now seen Mark Elsdon do 'Til Death' three or four times and it's amazing! Looking forward to learning the full work on it. I'm sure it will be stunning!

And the suspense is just killing me.

You want my childs play????? Cause I think it stinks...highly disappointed, but I did get a free sweatband with it! One of the worst purchases ive ever made! Was a great idea, but put out on the market way before it was 100% effective and thought out. Hence shortly after the fixes and upgrades.

Taylor is one of the best and Im sure this is great. But cant wait to see other effects.

From what was said by Christopher and Matthew as an introduction to Alone, I thought this first video would be a teaser. As such, I found it hit the mark.
While I enjoyed the presentation, I went back twice back to look at the reaction from the men who participated. They were appreciative and befuddled.It appears the demo was shot in a mall and the guys didn't impress me as a pushover audience.
Once the full roll-out is complete would probably be when I would most benefit from the comments and critique of the talented and insightful members of the Café.
From what I saw, the demo did what I assume Christopher aimed for---I want more!!!

Anything from Chris is amazing. I'll buy this.
