I have the distinction of wrapping up the Daytona convention (again) Sunday morning.
Most likely will be a rope lecture with new and old material. Click here to view attached image.

Mac-Stone - this should be a very good first experience for you. Great line up and intimate gathering compared to some of the national or international conventions.
For everyone else are you arriving on Thursday night or Friday?

Hey there, I had a great time when I went a few years back when I was a featured performer. I was treated great and the people I met were incredible. I hope to make it back there soon.

Does anyone know which dealers are going to be at the convention, can't find a list on the web page and was just curious.

Invisible - call Harry Allen at 386.252.6767 and ask him for a list of the dealers. Papercrane Magic (see post above) will be one dealer at the convention but there are always a 'boatload' at these things.
BTW Harry & Irv have both Harry Anderson & Jon Racherbaumer doing a Friday night lecture on their recent Jinx Anniversary booklet that was included in the October Genii magazine. It's an additional $50USD but includes a signed copy of the booklet plus an additional manuscript by Racherbaumer created just for this lecture. (http://www.daytonamagic.com/pages/The-Jinx-Lecture.html). Friday's going to be jam packed as it's check in day at the hotel plus lectures & contests in the afternoon, a deli dinner early evening, evening show at 8pm and the Jinx lecture beginning at 11pm. I may wind up missing the deli dinner or show to get some sleep unless I find some sort of stimulant (RED BULL, RED BULL, RED BULL). Those of us on the Café should plan to meet at some point during the weekend just to finally put a face & voice to our screen names & avitars. Travel safely. See you in two weeks!

The Jinx lecture tomorrow night looks to be the highlight of a pretty strong convention. I'm hoping for an early check in on Friday to grab a nap as the lecture will probably go until the wee hours and I don't want to miss Bev Bergeron's lecture on Saturday morning (8:15am).
Also ALERT for all Floridians. Dress warmly as temperatures on Friday night will drop into the upper 50's! Brrrrrr........

Great first day @ the convention . I really enjoyed David Garrards candle work and the comedy of David Merry. Tomorrow is the solo debut of Charlotte Pendragon. Had a great conversation with Magic Ian , Celeste Evans, and Jeff Stewart. Also , just to let everyone know :
HARRY ANDERSON said he was too busy to take a picture with me , can someone say : "WOW" !! This has been the ONLY dissapointment so far ! Is he usually like that or what ?
