Hi Guys!
I just added a brand new download on the "General magic" page of my website; my finger ring and string routine. This is a different routine than the one in Volume 3 of My Best to You. This routine has served me very well in restaurant gigs, strolling and formal close-up shows, etc, for over a decade. I explain every technique, and give tips about the timing etc. The final phase before the ring disappears is an absolute KILLER, and can be performed all by itself if you are pressed for time. Here is the ad copy from my site: Quote:
Scott's finger ring and string routine flows along in a harmonious blend of magic! http://www.scottfguinn.com/generalmagic.asp

Scott you down load for Sfor RandS is excellent . As I said on another post ring and string section
My personal favorite phase was when a empty loop formn a string is dipped into a purse frame and a ring appears,\ the beauty part of t Scott's routine you can take phase and incorperate it into your own routine, The best part though are the instructions the're very clear and easy to follow and to help every critical hand position is shown with photos.. Scott I am a very big fan of ring and string yours is a must for my collection vinny |

Y'know whenever the Godfather Vinny here chimes in about an effect, you better take notice. He's a great Ring & String man himself and knows the real deal when he see's it. He calls it the way it is and there isn't much better than "Excellent."
I love Scott's work as he does all sorts of magic and he does it well. It's like a guy being fluent in 3-4 different languages, very impressive. But Scott goes even further as he can also speak French...in Russian. Seriously, the guy is the consummate Pro and puts everything together just right, everytime out the box. Scott has cleaned-up his attic and put a brand new spit-shine to a lot of his work that has stood the test of time, real life magic that is successful and most of all amazing. His Symphony for Ring & String is yet another example of a man that knows his magic. This manuscript is clear, well designed and absolutely walks you through every moment of the effect. Great Scott's work is some of the only work there that doesn't necessarily need a dvd to be better illustrated. You can see he takes great pain in making things concise and comprehensible. Simply, it all just makes good sense. I'll be working on this one and I recommend that you do as well. It really looks like a lot of fun and if it's a lot of fun for me, it's going to be a blast for all those that I show it to. Just good magic through and through from Scott. His books should be on every magic shelf, cards, coins, closeup, whatever he's done it and done it good. *Visit his website, you'll be glad you did. http://www.scottfguinn.com

If I may ask without trying to sound disrespectful, other than the dipping into the purse are there any different moves in this routine than whats already out there? ie...ring leader, relentess, and the fleshman routine. all great routines but really almost the same, some small variances.

Hi ggarcia!
Not disrespectful at all. I'm always happy to answer questions and help however I can. If you're asking if I have any earth-shattering, ground-breaking moves that have never been published before, the answer is no. If you're asking if this routine has some moves that are not in the three resources you mentioned, the answer is yes. I also have some modifications of a couple of previously published moves--I either changed the handling or, in one case, adapted it in a different context than the original such that the effect produced is different. It is, in my humble and obviously biased opinion, the construction of the routine and the way the moves flow together that set this apart from the sources you named. The ring magically appears, goes on and off the string a few times in different ways. Then there is a very strong final phase before the finale, where the ring vanishes back into the purse clasp from whence it initially appeared. The other thing that sets it apart is the price--only $10. Hope that helps. I don't know that I can spell it out much more than that without revealing the methods.

Thanks, Vinny. Yes, that's right--the moves themselves aren't new, but my modifications give some of them a different feel, and in at least one case, my little changes make the move a lot easier to do.
BTW, if you are really into R&S routines, you may also want to check out my eBook, My Best to You: Close-up & Stand-Up. You'll find a couple of other routines of this type in that book, including my routine with a borrowed ring and string, a routine with keychain rings and string, my ring and stick/wand routine, & my Ellis ring routine. In addition it contains my 2-in-hand-1-in-pocket routine which features the production of--get this--an ELEPHANT, as well as 4 parlor platform routines for adult / family audiences and three strong, funny routines for kids shows. All the material is thoroughly explained, and there are tons of accompanying photos. All for a paltry $22.50, with my satisfaction guarantee... you can't go wrong there!

One of the best parts of this downlaod is thta you can take it with your and practice anyhwere -- not possible with DVD's. Scott's attention to detail and fine photo's means you can learn these moves, not just think about them. He offers a couple of moves I already knew but wouldn't do them because I didn't believe they would impress a spectator. Scott's material is always "real world" stuff.
